Duggar family - Josh and Anna

The Duggar Family’s grandchild will be a girl! Josh (the oldest of the Duggar’s 18 children) and Anna Duggar are expecting their first child this October, and found out they were having a little girl on television. Read more on the Duggar Family’s expanding family below.

On Monday’s “Today Show” with Meredith Viera, Joshua Duggar, 21 said:  “I have had a feeling this whole time it’s going to be a girl, so that now I’m for sure it’s a boy.”

But Joshua’s first instinct was right on target. Josh cut into a cake on the show and the insides of the cake were all pink… so a baby girl it is for Josh and Anna!

“I think you can prepare only in so many ways, but really just realizing that you’re going to be a role model for that child, and be able to be prepared as you can be to be able to take on that,” he said.

Josh Duggar has no plans on following in his parent’s footsteps and having 18 children. Josh wants a regular sized family.

“We’d be happy with two or three,” he said. “I think that children are a blessing though and when you raise them right they’re a great blessing.”

Joshua’s father, Jim Bob Duggar appeared via satellite on the show and said, “We’re really excited about being grandparents.”  His mother Michelle added, “They are going to make great parents.”

You can catch the TLC show on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. called “18 Kids and Counting”.

I’m so sick of people making fun of the Duggars or considering this family “stupid” or like country bumpkins because it chooses to love God and have a large family. These are good people who consider each child a blessing and who believe those blessings come from God. Now a new generation of Duggars will carry on the tradition and this is terrific. It sure beats the alternative of abortion, i.e., murdering a baby because it’s inconvenient. Please, people, stop making fun of the Duggars. This is a FREE country and if this family want to have 18, 20 or 30 children, then let it. AT LEAST IT’S NOT ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE or expecting a govt. hand-out from “The Messiah.”

No, the Duggars aren’t on public assistance, at least not in the form of welfare, but they are on a national hit television show who pays them to parade their ever growing (and grossly overpopulating)spectacle on television. Now that’s being paid handsomely & gives her a reason to continue getting pregnant, at least their son has limits and knows that 18+ children in todays precarious environment is not only stupid, it’s insane. I’m sure he doesn’t think of it like that, but he does know that there are limits. I mean really, if I were Michelle Duggar I’d be embarassed to continuously be pregnant at what? 43 years old? geez, she’s too damn old! dry up already, have sex for fun, not procreation, or is it empty nest syndrome you were fearing? you’ll be raising children well into your 80’s, no wait, that’s what all your older kids are for. You have all those others to take care of the little ones while you stay constantly incapacitated by continous pregnancies.

I’m sure the Duggars are very nice folks, and the kids are all well-kept and smart. But what frosts me is that these kids are NOT prepared for the real world and have only known the great amusement park known as Duggar Land…what will they do when confronted with REAL issues? They are almost as insulated from reality as those compound kids in the radical LDS tribes.

Also, women are NOT breeders. Poor Michelle Duggar – her stomach must hang below her knees. Doesn’t Jim Bob realize that he may be destroying his wife’s insides every time he dips his wick and she conceives? (I’m taking bets that Michelle the Fertile could do squat thrusts over a fire hydrant….

oh man YoMama! squat thrusts over a fire hydrant?? that’s funny as hell! She’s just too old to be popping a baby out every year, I’d be filled with dread if I woke up tomorrow and found out I’m pregnant (I’m 43). I’m in perimenopause and I’m sure Michelle Duggar is too, and once you turn 30 your chances of having a child with Down Syndrome increases, especially close to 40! I see a lot of Mennonite families (they breed like flies too, up until their uteruses drop out or their ovaries finally dry up)with 2-3 children with down syndrome because they have kids till they’re physically incapable of becoming pregnant. I don’t celebrate these new age “mega-breeders”, humans weren’t meant to carry multiple fetuses. Gone are the days where over 10 kids was considered normal.

Oh, I see — so people who choose to have a lot of children or large families are old-fashioned? That those who choose to keep their children afflicted with Down Syndrome rather than murdering them via abortion simply because having such a child is shameful or difficult are to be labeled stupid or hicks or whatever? Is liberty only to be for those who are politically correct – only those who espouse infanticide (abortion – making it legal doesn’t make it right), homosexual “marriages” or a one-child policy as they have in China – are allowed to express their opinions? How unfair that is!
I’m proud of the Duggars for going against the grain. Today, that means having a large family, valuing Life and teaching their children to love God, family and country. Too bad those vlues are so old-fashioned!
As an aside, my father and his father come from large families – 10 children or more. Were they backward or hicks or stupid? I think not. 5 of my father’s brothers served in the Marine Corps. So, please, people, please try to respect other people’s differences. STOP MAKING FUN OF THE DUGGARS; it’s not right. You certainly tell us that enough; now it’s time for you liberals and pro abortion/pro homosexual/pro one-child policy people to practice what you preach!

Martinez, whoever you are, you ar disgusting. I’m just glad it’s the Duggars and not you who are having 18 children. What gives you the right to tell anyone how many children they shoujld have? What makes you the purveyor of “population control” or what is “environmentally correct”? Did you ever think the Duggars, who really do love one another, enjoy sex and that a baby is the result, not the reason they enjoy making love? And who are you to say Michelle is “too old” to have children? I heard about a 60+ woman who had a baby. While I didn’t like the fact that she had a first-time baby at that age, I have no problem with Michelle having babies because she does have c hildren to help her. That’s NOT why she had those children but it teaches the youngsters about parenthood, how to share, to be patient, etc., instead of doing STUPID things like playing video games, being glued to IPods or MP3 playes, watching raunchy, dirty movies or having unsafe, indiscriminate sex when they’re only 14 or 15 years old.
And why shouldn’t they get paid for sharing their story? That is NOT why Michelle continues to have children! If you did anything worthwhile, Martinez, I’m sure TLC and Discover would come to your door for your story.

I think there’s a difference between asking people to murder their children and suggesting that 18 might be a few too many…there are natural birth control methods that people can employ, and barrier methods such as condoms, if they feel that birth control pills constitute “murder”. Our earth is grossly overtaxed, our resources pushed beyond the limit. I personally adopted a child and added no people to the world – not a choice for everyone, but there are more ways to love God than to overdue reproduction. These folks are very creative financially and appear to be very self-sufficient, contributing members of society – I think their children havce enough freedom and exposure in part because of their show to the rest of the world that they can make choices about how to run their lives at majority. However, few families could successfully live out their model, or afford to provide for so many.

The Duggar’s couldn’t keep having all of these children unless they were putting the burden of raising them on the older siblings. I think it’s selfish and wrong to lay that much responsibility on the older children to carry the load. When you see huge families like their they are always homeschooled for a reason. It’s to keep them at home and out of touch with rest of the world. When you keep them cut off you can exercise more control over them. Then religion is brought into the picture to gain even more control and to brainwash the kids into thinking it’s their responsbility to run the household and to take care of the younger siblings and the babies. Dad is feeding his ego by showing what a “stud” he is by impregnating his wife every year or two and mother is passive enough to go along with it. So God controls how many children they have. Then go girlfriend! Have that baby then get pregnant again as soon as you get home. God isn’t controlling anything. They are making a concentrated effort to continue the baby cycle and I guess will continue until Michelle’s uterus ruptures or she dies in childbirth.

The older children are forced to be substitute parents (which is taking advantage and stealing their youth), and the younger children have to ask their buddy for help before bothering Mom (that’s a paraphrase from one of their earlier shows when there were only 44 Duggar kids). How is this God’s plan? Perhaps they should use their financial freedom money to hire a nanny or a housekeeper once in a while so that the older kids can occasionally be regular care-free kids, and the younger kids will have some surprise unconditional attention from their parents. that would be a nice surprise for the kids, who didn’t ask to be born into this situation.
BUT TO EACH THEIR OWN I GUESS.
