Boston’s WTKK-FM Host Jay Severin Suspended After Comments On Mexicans (Photos)

Talk show host, Jay Severin, of WTKK-FM radio station, was suspended yesterday after calling Mexican immigrants “criminaliens,” “primitives,”"leeches” and exporters of “women with mustaches and VD,” and other rude things. Read more on Jay Severin’s suspension below.
Jay Severin is said to be suspended indefinitely from his drive-time show. Severin also casts blame on the people of Mexico for swine flu.
In his broadcast this week, Severin stated: “So now, in addition to venereal disease and the other leading exports of Mexico – women with mustaches and VD – now we have swine flu.” Then he later said Mexicans are “the world’s lowest of primitives.”
“When we are the magnet for primitives around the world – and it’s not the primitives’ fault by the way, I’m not blaming them for being primitives – I’m merely observing they’re primitive,” he said.
Severin said Mexicans are destroying schools and hospitals in the United States. “It’s millions of leeches from a primitive country come here to leech off you and, with it, they are ruining the schools, the hospitals, and a lot of life in America,” he said.
Severin also said: “We should be, if anything, surprised that Mexico has not visited upon us poxes of more various and serious types already, considering the number of criminaliens already here.”
Severin believes the Obama administration isn’t taking sufficient action to seal the border. “The usual 5,000 criminaliens that come across the Arizona border will probably be 8,000 tonight, and maybe tomorrow it will be 12,000, because even Mexicans are going to be trying to get out of Mexico at a greater rate.”

It’s fine if he has his opinion–everyone is entitled to have his or her opinion, no matter what it is.
However, broadcasting an opinion that is very clearly racist (whether true or not) is not appropriate.

Jay Severin has been a voice for division, hatred and fear for ten years polluting Boston’s airwaves and reaching out to the easily influenced and mentally unstable. He is xenophobic, very provincial and small minded. He has also famously lied about having a Pulitzer (as if!) and a masters degree (LOL). This really isn’t far from his usual rants and I am sure the station finally had enough of paying him too much to be an a’hole. Good riddance – I hope he rots away in the obscurity he deserves – Michael Graham is funnier, smarter and more insightful and I look forward to having him take over Jay’s spot permanently.

Severin should not be pinished for hie comments, he is why I listen to your radir station. Does WTKK have to be PC correct? If you can’t talk about the truth what else is there? Please keep Jay on, he is a breath of fresh air. Thanks

I am a Mexican-American, so called even though my family has lived here 5 generations and none of us has the slightest inkling how to speak spanish. I am offended by the racist comments–Latin women are quite often beautiful. He forgets that the Europeans brought VD to the Americas. I do support his right to say whatever he wants though. Us latin types have fought in every war–heck my great grandfather was cavalry in WWI. They fought for the rights of everyone, even hate-spewers like Severin. I do not think he should be fired.
P.S. Almost all women have mustaches, but with dark hair it is more noticeable.

Jay Severin, a/k/a Jimmy Severino, is a pompous, lying, racist and misogynist. He is also a coward, as he will not allow differing opinions to be expressed by callers to his show. If someone calls in and expresses a difference of opinion (of course Jay interrupts constantly, too, as he loves to hear himself talk), Jay hangs up on the caller and then berates and belittles the caller, who cannot defend himself, as Jay has disconnected him. What a piece of crap Jay Severin is! I hope they never let him on the air again, anywhere. He does not impart anything of value, but rather, he spreads hatefulness and ignorance, and incites morons to do the same.

This is a show.. a show… ratings are involved.. It’s what he does for a living.. If you don’t like it, turn it off.. There is truth in much of what he says but he always goes over the top to get exactly these types of reactions. There are 12+ million illegals here who are spending (stealing) yours and my tax dollars by taking services – education and healthcare for example – that they do not pay for.. This is not heresay, this is what is happening and you are paying for it .. If you are ok with that then get your lawmakers to change the law.. Any reference to mustache’s and VD however are just silly and intended to be inflammatory. It’s the same with all subjects that he covers… basically true but embellished for the entertainment value… it’s a show.
As for the Boston TruthSayers comments that the radio show is for the easily influenced and mentally unstable, I would suggest that you are probably a little left of Karl Marx and are the kind of person who likes to marginalize and attempt to portray as irrelevant, people who do not agree with you. I’ll also bet you sport an Obama / Biden bumper sticker on your Prius. You and people like you all have the same opinion of shows and hosts like this.. very predictable.
If you ever listened to the people who call in, they are far from easily influenced and mentally unstable and many do have opposing views.. It is why this station and its hosts work.. unlike Air America.

A while back some hosts said that one day they too would be pulled off the air for a statement that they made. As the “everything goes” society becomes larger so does the “but don’t say anything about “X”. I take care of them – or is it that they take care of me.
Fair and balanced my buttered biscuit! Here we go folks. Jay Severin is merely round one. Round two should round up much better prize.
Shame on Greater Media. The companies that pay your and the hosts salaries should find out from You where the line in the sand is. Not the other way around. I’m sure Jay Severin has done well by you in the past years. I think that line drawn to those companies should have been a bit farther out from You and Mr. Severin.
To the comments that were said? Were they truthful? Most already knew that answer. Should Jay be suspended over the way in which it was all stated? Unfortunately for me that is not my decision to make. To The Greater Media – Don’t cave, Bring Back Jay.

He has every right to say whatever he wants. And we should shut the border down. Why should my health insurance cost go up because undocumented aliens go to the ER and never pay. If they came here legally nobody would care but they are criminals and should be thrown in prison. His comments were a little over the top but his point that they shouldn’t be here is 100% correct.
