Rihanna Seeks Return Of $1.4 Million In Jewelry Seized The Night Of Beating (Photos)
Posted on April 25, 2009
Singer Rihanna is asking for the return of $1.4 million in jewelry she was wearing the night she was beaten by Chris Brown. Read more on this story below.
Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, filed a motion Tuesday requesting that Los Angeles police and prosecutors return a pair of earrings and three rings that were seized as evidence.
The motion says that Chris Brown’s attorney and a Los Angeles Police Department detective overseeing the case, do not object to the return of the items. They have agreed photos can be used for the case.
The items are described as being made of “yellow metal” and all but one includes “white stones.” The value of the items is at least $1.4 million, the motion states. The document asks the court “to order the return of the property to (Rihanna) without further delay.”
This jewelry is what Rihanna was wearing to the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party. This was the night Chris Brown allegedly beat her by hitting, biting and choking his girlfriend.
The filing also stated the jewelry was loaned to the singer by four companies, which want the jewelry back.
