Gospel Singer Timothy Wright Died At 61 (Photos)

Gospel singer Reverend Timothy Wright has died at 61. Read more on the car accident that claimed his wife, Betty, and grandson, D.J.’s life.

The Grammy-nominated vocalist and composer, Timothy Wright, died on Thursday at Bronx Veterans Hospital in New York.

Wright’s cause of death was not released, but Wright has been in bad health since being injured in the car crash in July 2008.

The car accident claimed the life of his wife, Betty, 58, and their 14-year-old grandson, D.J. Wright.

Rev. Wright was pastor at Grace Tabernacle Christian Center Church of God in Christ, in Brooklyn, New York.Wright became famous in 1994 with his album “Come though Almighty King”, which was nominated for a Grammy.  He was also nominated for another Grammy in 1999 for “Been There Done That ” and released more than 12 albums throughout his career.
