Lawyer William Parente Murder-Suicide At Maryland Sheraton Hotel (Photos)

The bodies of a New York lawyer, William Parente, his wife Betty, and two daughters Stephanie and Catherine Parente were found in a Sheraton hotel room in Maryland, the victims of a murder-suicide. Read more on this tragic story below.

Employees of the Sheraton Baltimore North hotel discovered the bodies of William Parente, 59, his wife, Betty Parente, 58, and their daughters, Stephanie, 19, a sophomore at Loyola College, and her sister, Catherine, 11, on Monday afternoon inside their locked room on the 10th floor. Employees entered the room after the family did not check out on time Monday.

William and Betty Parente and younger daughter, Catherine, had traveled to Towson from their home in Garden City to visit their older daughter Stephanie at Loyola college.

Police would not give details but believed one of the parents to be responsible for the deaths. They are searching for a motive. Was it economic reasons?” Mr. Hill said. “Was it family reasons? We just don’t know.”

A neighbor, Mary Opulente Krener, told the Associated Press she was “astounded” by news of the deaths.

“I can’t tell you how heartsick I am,” Ms. Krener said. “This is the most wonderful family, the most kind and loving family. ‘’

Mr. Hill said the Parente family had breakfast together Sunday morning, and that a hotel employee saw the family together Sunday afternoon, the last time, he said, they were seen alive.
