Outkast’s Andre 3000 Arrested For Speeding In Porsche (Photos)

Outkast’s Andre 3000 was arrested near Atlanta on Saturday when police caught up to him for speeding over 109 mph in his 2007 Porsche Carrera, in a 65 mph zone. Oops! Read more on Andre 3000’s arrest below!

According to local news station WSBTV, the rapper/actor (whose real name is Andre Benjamin) was driving down I-75 at about 109 mph in his 2007 Porsche Carrera, in a 65 mph zone.

“He checked that speed on his laser device, which showed 109 miles per hour,” Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton told Channel 2. “Traveling that fast along I-75, you’re passing vehicles almost like they’re standing still. And it’s an accident waiting to happen.”

Police said they had to arrest Andre 3000, it was their only option. Andre told them he was driving that fast because he had missed his exit and needed to turn around.

“He may have indicated that he was headed to a birthday party,” Bolton said.

Andre 3000 was released a few hours after the arrest $1,200 bond.

Andre will be due in court on April 29.
