Madonna To Adopted A Second Child From Malawi (Photos)

Madonna will be going to Malawi in an effort to adopt a second child from the poor African country of Malawi. Read more on Madonna’s second adoption below.

An official at the Malawi welfare department said Madonna has filed adoption papers.

Another source has reported that Madonna will fly to Malawi over the weekend and a court could hear her adoption case as early as Monday.

Madonna’s adoption of a Malawian boy (David Banda) in 2008 stirred controversy over foreign adoptions and many people questioned if the rules had been broken for Madonna.

This past year there were rumors that Madonna wanted to adopt a girl from Malawi where she runs a charity.

Madonna will go through the required legal process to secure her bid for adoption.

People magazine reported that Madonna told Malawi’s Nation newspaper that she wants a sister for her son David, 3, whom she adopted from the country. “Many people – especially our Malawian friends – say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister,” she told the paper. “It’s something I have been considering, but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and government.”
