“Three Stooges” Movie With Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, & Benicio del Toro

The Farrelly brothers have chosen the actors who will become the Three Stooges. And their odd choices are Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, and Jim Carrey. Read more on the “Three Stooges” movie below.

Variety reports that Sean Penn will play the role of Larry. The character was played for around five decades by Larry Fine. Larry was known his violin-love as well as for getting in the middle of the eye-poking attacks.

And as for the bald “Curly”, that part will be played by comedian/actor Jim Carrey. It’s hard to imagine Jim Carrey as Curly but you can bet this guy will go all out and said he will be gaining 40 pounds to play this role.

Moe is supposedly being played by Benicio del Toro. That casting is a bit more understandable. And Benicio has played plenty of bad guys so should be right at home playing Moe, the bully of the trio.

The Farrelly brothers have made such awesome but crude films as “There’s Something About Mary” and “Shallow Hal,” have been trying to reinvent the Stooges for more than ten years.

Production is expected to begin in the fall for a 2010 release.
