The young German tennis player is making news due to her gender. Sarah Gronert was born with male and female genitalia, but after surgery is considered female. But many argue Gronert should not be allowed to compete in women’s tennis. Read more on Sarah Gronert below.
Sarah Gronert, 22, was actually born with both male and female “parts”. But the decision was made for Sarah to undergo surgery to make herself medically (and legally) a woman.
But Gronert is being opposed by other tennis coaches and others that claim she should not be able to compete in women’s tennis.
“There is no girl who can hit serves like that, not even Venus Williams,” said Schlomo Tzoref, the coach of player Julia Glushko, reports Fanhouse.
Glushko lost to Gronert in a tournament in Israel in early March. “When I heard her story, I was in shock. I don’t know if it’s fair that she can compete or not. She does have an advantage, but if this is what the WTA have decided, they probably know best. If she begins to play continuously, within six months she will be within the top 50.”
Sarah Gronert, who ranked No. 619 in the world, considered quitting tennis at the age of 19 due to the constant ridicule. Fanhouse says the young woman’s Wikipedia profile has been taken down due to “constant abuse by users.”

You know, I see things like this and it is disturbing. There is nothing wrong with her playing on the women’s side. She is “LEGALLY” and “PHYSICALLY” a woman. Come on, those so called ‘girls’ are just jealous. I think she should continue!

The complaints about Sarah seem more like sour grapes than anything else. Intersexed people, while although exhibiting various different forms of external genitalia, genetic testing can reveal if they are fundamentally female or male. XX female, XY male. If she has XY chromosomes then she’s male, if XX then she’s female. No argument. Psychologically, she obviously identifies with being female. INTERSEX POWER!!!!
