Mariska Hargitay Hospitalized Again With Lung Ailment (Photos)

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress, Mariska Hargitay, is back in the hospital for the third time suffering from a mysterious lung ailment.

Mariska Hargitay was rushed to a hospital in New York Tuesday night after complaining of chest pains on the set of “Law & Order: SVU.”

Hargitay’s rep confirmed that the actress is back in the hospital “after experiencing some discomfort relating to her earlier lung condition. She is undergoing routine tests and expects to be feeling better soon.”

Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing editor of health for FOXNews.com, said an injury to the lung may cause adhesions to form on the outer cover of the lung or pleura.

Mariska Hargitay’s has had to go to the hospital three times just since just December for a condition called a pneumothorax.

“These adhesions sometimes can rip due to physical activity and create a spontaneous pneumothorax,” said Alvarez.

Her rep told USMagazine.com that “production will not be affected.” So obviously the show will go on!

Hargitay, 45, received a Golden Globe nom for her role as Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit but did not attend the award show.
