Singer Phoebe Snow To Take DNA Test To Prove She’s Not African-American (Photos)

Phoebe Snow is ready to take a DNA test to show that she is not African-American, after being named a black music industry great. Read more on Phoebe Snow below.

Snow was named as one of New Jersey’s “black music industry greats” in a local magazine, along with Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Snow admits that she has been questioned about her roots throughout her career, and the latest magazine article has made her want to check out her family tree.

Phoebe Snow tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, “I was peeing in my pants laughing (at the magazine). I was like, this is fantastic, to be in such great company.”

“Believe me, people have been asking me about this since I started in the recording industry. My mom was the whitest, alabaster-skinned person you can imagine, but who knows what went on four generations ago? So this mitochondrial DNA test should settle it.”
