Steven Page Quits Barenaked Ladies Band (Photos)

Steven Page, one of the lead singers of the Canadian band the Barenaked Ladies, is leaving the group.  Read more on Steven Page and his future music plans below.

Steven Page plans on pursuing a solo career. But the other members of the Barenaked Ladies will continue to play together under the same name.

Steven Page’s departure is by “mutual agreement,” the band states. Page’s fuure projects will include “theatrical opportunities.”

“These guys are my brothers,” Page said in a statement on the band’s Web site. “We’ve grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future.”

“It’s the start of a new chapter for all of us. Here’s to the future!” added Ed Robertson, another one of the band’s main voices.

Maybe this will be the best thing for the band after Page’s drug arrests this past year.
