Dying Reality TV Star Jade Goody Marries Jack Tweed On Television (Photos/Video)

British reality television star Jade Gody married Jack Tweed on camera. Goody is bald after chemotherapy and had trouble standing being weak, but married her sweetheart Sunday. Read more on Jade Goody’s bittersweet wedding below.
Jade Goody, 27, the brash loud-mouthed reality star viewers loved to hate is now dying from cervical cancer.
Jade Goody and Jack Tweed received a standing ovation from around 200 guests once they were married at the Down Hall Country House Hotel in eastern England, Goody’s spokesman Max Clifford told reporters after the ceremony.
Jade felt unable to stand about half an hour into the ceremony and needed to sit down. Tweed kneeled beside her with her two little boys on her lap.
“It was just a very beautiful, very moving service,” Clifford said.
Goody’s doctors have given her only has weeks to live. Being in the public eye, Jade decided to film her struggle with cancer in an attempt to make as much money as possible to leave to her two young sons.
Jade Goody went from being unknown to becoming thrust into the spotlight after appearing on “Big Brother,” a British reality show in 2002.
Goody cashed in on her notoriety with an autobiography, fitness videos and a line of perfume. But in January 2007 Goody had words with Shilpa Shetty, and was labeled by some as a racist and kicked off the show.
Goody attempted to make amends to make up with Shetty, and offered to appear on the Indian version of the reality show. While filming is when Jade learned of her cervical cancer.

Some had criticized Goody’s decision to spend her final days in the limelight, but the public now seems to embrace her decision.
“People will say I’m doing this for money,” she was quoted as saying by The Sun tabloid earlier. “And they’re right. I am, but not to buy flash cars or big houses. It’s for my sons’ future.”
Prime Minister Gordon Brown called her situation tragic, while the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, described Goody as “a brave woman.”
“A lot of people might say ‘well, it’s better if she did everything in quiet,’” Murphy-O’Connor told Sky News in comments broadcast Sunday. “But I think she’s made a decision that she wants the last months of her life to teach people something.”
Cervical cancer screenings have increased after Jade Goody’s condition became known.
“Jade Goody has done what no public health campaign has been able to do in the past, which is get widespread public attention onto the screening issue,” British lawmaker Dr. Liam Fox told Sky.
Britain’s Ministry of Justice allowed Jack Tweed, on probation after assaulting a teenage boy with a golf club, special dispensation to spend Sunday evening with his bride.
“It might be their only night together,” Clifford said.
Bittersweet news isn’t it? But Congrats to Jade Goody and Jack Tweed on their wedding.
