New York Post Chimp Cartoon Angers Rev. Al Sharpton (Photos)

The New York Post is causing quite a star with their chimp cartoon comparing the crazy chimp to the person that wrote the stimulus bill, most likely referring to President Barack Obama. Rev. Al Sharpton is none too happy! Read more after the bump!
The chimp cartoon drawing was done by famed cartoonist Sean Delonas and contains racial undertones. The two police officers holding guns are looking over at the dead chimp and the caption reads, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” reads the caption.
This chimp cartoon appears both on the New York Post website and can be seen on page 12 of the Wednesday paper.
You can take it how you want but some think the cartoon suggests that the stimulus bill is so crappy that a chimp could have written it. And others think it could be comparing the crazy chimp to our President, Barack Obama.
Rev. Al Sharpton is pissed and said in a statement:
“The cartoon in today’s New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that “Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill.”
“Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?”
So what do you guys think? Is it racist?

No the cartoon is not racist. It is just political commentary that is it.
Sharpton is racist and offensive and stupid. By the way if the cartoon were racist then it would be said to be IMPLYING that the monkey wrote the stimulus bill. As it is Sharpton and the other colored idiots are INFERRING that a monkey wrote the bill.
