Expecting your teen to be abstinent is unrealistic to say the least. Kids are SO curious at this stage and every one of their peers are having sex or talking about it. If I had a teen daughter, I would certainly put her on birth control. Unfortunately, a lot of these teen moms end up raising the child on their own while the fathers move on and continue uninterrupted. She did good for coming out and saying it was not glamorous. She didn't screw anything up! Kids are watching TV and thats a Big affect on girls especially.. It's either the Bad Girls Club where these little girls are watching all the women on tv beat eachother up and sleep with different guys. Or it Americas next top model.. telling girls theyre too fat or there hair is too short. All these shows affect little girls and that's why society is the way it is todayy!!! They need to leave that poor girl alone and just be happy for her.
