Sports Illustrated Reports Alex Rodriguez “A-Rod” Tested Positive For Steroids
Posted on February 7, 2009Sports Illustrated has reported Saturday morning that Alex Rodriguez aka “A-Rod” tested postive for two different steroids back in 2003, the year baseball players were tested anonymously and were not penalized. Read more on A Rod and his steroid use below.
SI reported that out of almost 2,000 baseball players that 104 of them tested positive. Barry Bonds wasn’t one of those players but when his test was re-submitted by the federal government in 2003, his test showed positive for THG.
In 2003, there was an agreement that the results nor players names would be released. But if 5% or more tests came out positive, that baseball would begin random drug testing.
In 2007, when Jose Canseco said he could not believe that Sen. George Mitchell had not included Alex Rodriguez in the players in his report on baseball’s steroid era, Alex Rodriguez flatly denied ever using steroids.
So what do you guys think of Rodriguez, baseball’s highest paid player, testing positive for steroids years ago?
