Jessica Simpson’s Meltdown In Grand Rapids

Jessica Simpson has had a rough time lately with the focus on her weight gain. But now Jessica Simpson pretty much had a breakdown in front of fans in Grand Rapids. Read more on Jessica’s meltdown below.

Simpson was said to forget lyrics, mumbled through her songs, and even tried to keep from crying during Thursday’s performance.

“Jessica had an off night,” Cindi Berger, a representative for Simpson, said Friday. “She’s a perfectionist, and wanted to start some of the songs over. She always wants to give her best performance to her fans.”

While introducing her last song, Simpson said she sometimes feels like quitting. Fans said it looked as if Simpson was wiping away tears after finishing the song and walking off the stage.

Jessica Simpson was opening for Rascal Flatts in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a performance that was labeled a “train wreck.”

John Gonzalez of the Grands Rapids Press told Grand Rapids NBC affiliate station WOOD TV 8 of the concert, which he attended, “It was one of those trainwrecks that you went, ‘Oh no, I know where this is going and it’s not good.’”

Gonzalez said, “She forgot her lyrics during a couple of the songs including one of her minor hit singles. … She just appeared to be kind of losing it as the show went on — just struggling.”

The reporter said that the crowd was polite: “They applauded mildly — they didn’t boo her, which I was almost surprised that didn’t happen.”
