Miss America 2009 Is Miss Indiana Katie Stam (Photos)

Miss Indiana Katie Stam, 22, a communications major at the University of Indianapolis, was crowned Miss America 2009 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Read more on Katie Stam below.

Miss America, the 88-year-old competition, which aired on TLC was a bit different this year with the selection of four top finalists by votes cast by viewers. Dimpled cutie Mario Lopez was the host of the Miss America Pageant.

Reigning Miss America Kirsten Haglund of Michigan crowned Stam, who takes home the new title and a $50,000 scholarship.

Congrats to Miss Indiana on becoming Miss America 2009!
