Kimora Lee Simmons, 33, has two daughters, Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 6, with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, whom she divorced in 2008 after nearly 10 years of marriage.
“I have a lot of hang-ups in life with men. I’m not very trusting,” she told Harper’s Bazaar last year. “After my breakup, I thought, ‘I don’t need anything.’”
Kimora Lee Simmons met actor Djimon Hounsou in February 2007, and said, “I have someone who has the heart, the soul, and the hotness.”
Added Hounsou , “My first impression has always been the same, that she’s a very beautiful lady, very capable and intelligent and smart with great family values. She’s the least high-maintenance lady I’ve ever dated.”
Asked if she wanted more kids, Simmons told Us last September, “I would love to. I practice everyday.”

Well, honestly I still can’t get over the fact that Russell and Kimora are no longer together considering all they’ve shared and been through together. But if I were to take Kimora’s word for it and conclude that Russell initiated the separation, (at least as it implied in a past Harpar’s Bazaar article featuring her and her new man)I must say I bet Russell is eating crow now….he doesn’t have his babies’ mother or the younger model now….brother should have worked it out and held on. After all, it’s not like he was ignorant to the type of woman he married to begin with. Her “over the top” persona (which he has defended numerous times)is her style….doesn’t seem to me she under appreciated his evolution to yoga and buddaism and life as a vegan. I mean he was the one that said she is the most beautiful, sophisticated, sexy, intelligent, on and on and on MODEL he has ever met?….which is why he sought after her and eventually married her. So now who’s going to compare to all that? Seems like Rev Run (who married them in the first place) should have stepped in for some marital counseling sessions with them.

Sorry I should have mentioned when I said “they no longer being together”, I meant Russell and Kimora not Kimora and Djimon.
