Boy George Sentenced To 15 Months In Jail For Imprisioning Male Escort

Boy George, former singer of Culture Club, was sentenced to 15 months in a London courtroom Friday for imprisioning a male escort in his home in 2007. Read more about Boy George below.

Boy George has been a naughty boy and now is going to do jail time.

Judge David Radford told Boy George aka George O’Dowd that he was guilty of “gratuitous violence” for handcuffing and beating a 29-year-old Norwegian man with a chain, after meeting the man online and inviting him to his London apartment for a nude photo shoot.

But the Norwegian man, Audun Carlsen, was held prisoner against his will in George’s apartment.

Boy George, 47, is reported to have shown little emotion during his sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court, London. He was jailed immediately.

The sentencing followed a trial last year, in which O’Dowd said he held the escort because he thought the man had tampered with his computer.

This isn’t the first time Boy George has been in trouble with the law.

In 2006, he performed court-ordered community service in New York City after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment, where police discovered cocaine.

Most of us remember Boy George and his band Culture Club back in the 1980’s who had such hits as “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?”.
