I can tell you that the strength it took for her to admit what she had been through to critics worldwide gave me the added strength to continue my personal battle. I am still clean today and I have pulled alot of strength from her words of encouragement and her selfless confession throughout the years. She helped me see that I was much more than a drug addict and that not only could I beat this horrible addiciton - I could succeed and be somebody - a productive citizen and a mother to my children. I may not be a celebrity, but I am a healthy, clean and sober productive member of society....... It was not revealed that she did drugs in the 80s. That was when she smoked it. The show in which she revealed it was in the mid 90s(1995 or so). On her own show. In the 80s Oprah was an anchorwoman.
