Naked Skier Accident on Chairlift (exposed pictures)

In a bizzare event that happened on January 1st 2009, a 48 year old skier fell through the seat board on a Vail mountain chairlift. The skier did not fall all of the way through but was left hanging upside down with his butt exposed!
Vail Mountain Ski patrol is saying that the fold down seat did not latch down correctly which left a gap that somehow allowed the skier to slide thorugh. The man fell through and was saved from falling by his right ski.
The chairlift was stopped for around 15 minutes while ski patrol tried to rescue the man. A professional photographer who happened to be off duty at the time captured the event. Apparently that man is now suspeneded by his employer…. I don’t see what the problem is if he was using his own camera on his own time (off duty).
The photographer Marty Odom had this to say-
“I was out on my own with my own camera, so I didn’t think it was a big deal. I thought it was going to be the photo of the New Year. I guess it embarrassed Vail Resorts, and they called my shop.”
