Actress HEATHER LOCKLEAR was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday (27Sep08).
The former Melrose Place star, was arrested by police after a local reported her “driving erratically” upon leaving a parking lot in the coastal city.
She was held in custody overnight and released on Sunday (28Sep08) without posting bail.
The authorities are conducting tests to determine whether or not the actress was under the influence of drugs behind the wheel after ruling out suspicions she had been drinking alcohol, according to TMZ.com.
Saturday’s DUI drama comes just two months after Locklear checked out of an Arizona rehab clinic, where she received treatment for anxiety and depression.
Ironically, her ex-husband, rocker Richie Sambora, was caught drink driving in Laguna Beach, California in March (08).
The couple’s daughter, Ava, and a cousin were passengers when he was pulled over by police.
The Bon Jovi star plea bargained his way out of a potential prison term in April (08), after accepting he was guilty of drink driving.
He was ordered to pay fines and damages, placed on probation for three years and instructed to attend an alcohol education course. (KL/WN&WNWCZM/MJ)
