I am a Shryock daughter from Oklahoma. Please try to spell our name correctly in your articles about Keri. Although I do not know her I know we are all related from the “Four Brothers” who imigrated and the name was changed. To you, her parents, I cannot imagine a more tragic Christmas. Please know that the rest of the Shryock family I know will be praying for you. She must be a terrific girl and an over-achiever as we all seem to be.

In response to “Logic”, Keri did not unwisely devoted her energy to a megachurch. She WISELY devoted her energy to this place that changed her life. Have you been to this church? If not, then you should leave your opinions to yourself. Your comments are ignorant and show no respect for her as a person. You don’t even know her so don’t make assumptions. She was deeply committed to Christ. She had a good heart, thought of others first, and could make anyone smile. That was Keri. She was not just some person they put up on ropes with unexperienced volunteers working with her. She was experienced in this area, which is one reason why she got the part for the show. A lot of planning and logistic training went into the acrobatic portion that was taught from others in the business of acrobatics. The show was not performed just for attendance. It’s about the real meaning of Christmas. Yes, wise men don’t fly, but in the beginning of the act they walked to the stage bearing their gifts. One noticed the North Star and that’s when they went to their designated ropes to perform the acrobatics. The North Star came forward to make it appear as if they were following it. If you rememember correctly from the Bible, the Maji’s followed the North Star. This is also not a “phony glammed-up version of religion”. Another ignorant and unacceptable comment. Again, have you attended this church? A tragedy occurred. Let us grieve and let us heal. Respect Keri, those of us who were involved, and especially her family. She was not a celebrity and should not even be on a website titled, “Stupid Celebrities Gossip”. I will leave it at this for now.

She very unwisely devoted energy to a mega-church – which means she supported a completely bastardized and overproduced version of Christianity (which is proved by the Church’s comments about how this incident will somehow lead to a deeper understanding of Jesus, when in fact it is just a sign of equipment error in the service of phony glammed-up version of religion). Flying wise men? A church that counts its success based on pageant attendance? That’s feel-good showbiz bogusness, not spirituality.

Keri was not a stupid celebrity she was a young person who loved Jesus and was just trying to teach others about Him. You should remove this article from you site. Imagine her family and friends finding this. Have a heart.
