Sean Avery Suspended by NHL After Comments On Players & Ex’s Elisha Cuthbert and Rachel Hunter (Pics)

Dallas Stars and former Rangers hockey player, Sean Avery has been suspended indefinitely after speaking about his fellow players and two of his ex-girlfriends Rachel Hunter and Elisha Cuthbert. See what rude comments Sean Avery said to get suspended over below.

On the morning of his game against the Calgary Flames, Sean Avery spoke told reporters “I’m just going to say one thing. I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada. I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about, but enjoy the game tonight.”

Ogh! Burn! But that snide comment has gotten Sean Avery into a bit of trouble. So what does Avery have against Elisha Cuthbert and Rachel Hunter? Well, Avery used to date both actress Elisha Cuthbert (tv’s show 24, Girl Next Door) and model Rachel Hunter (ex of Rod Stewart and hottie in video Stacy’s Mom.). But Cuthbert is now dating Calgary defenseman Dion Phaneuf and Rachel Hunter is dating Jarret Stoll of the L.A. Kings.

Although hockey players seem to be allowed to beat the hell out of one another, they are obviously not allowed to talk smack about people. The NHL has suspended Sean Avery for “inappropriate public comments, not pertaining to the game.”

The Stars agreed, with their owner Tom Hicks saying, “Had the league not have suspended him, the Dallas Stars would have. This organization will not tolerate such behavior, especially from a member of our hockey team. We hold our team to a higher standard and will continue to do so.”
