Debbie Matenopoulos Surprised & Hurt By Husband’s Divorce Filing (Photos)

Debbie Matenopoulos states she is both sad and surprised upon hearing her husband filed for divorce. Matenopoulos says she learned about the divorce filing from internet reports.

“I am extremely saddened by the dissolution of my seven-year relationship with my husband,” Matenopoulos said.

Matenopoulus’s husband ,Jay Faires is a music exec who filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, according to court papers filed in LA on Wednesday.

Jay Faires married Matenopoulos, 33, in July 2003 and the couple separated in March 2008 Faires has requested that the court not award Debbie any spousal support.

“I am not a proponent of divorce and I believe in working things out,” said Matenopoulos.

The Emmy award winner and former co-host of The View added, “So you can only imagine my extreme sadness and disillusionment when I was informed of my husband’s divorce proceedings, much like you were, by reading them online.”
