Former Idol Contestant & Abdul Stalker Paula Goodspeed Found Dead Outside Paula Abdul’s Home (Photos)

The Coroner’s Office of Los Angeles has identified former American Idol contestant Paula Goodspeed as the female that was found dead in her car, in front of Paula Abdul’s home Tuesday evening. Read more on Paula Goodspeed’s death below.

It’s being reported by E! News that Paula Goodspeed was a huge fan of Paula Abdul’s to the point of being obsessed. And sources state that this wasn’t the first time Paula Goodspeed had stalked Paula Abdul.

Crazy, but sources say that Goodspeed, 30, had been stalking Paula Abdul for the past 17 years. Goodspeed’s obsession led her to auditioning twice for American Idol, including her now-infamous audition with Simon Cowell.

Paula Goodspeed’s death on Tuesday night, which police suspect was a suicide, was not first visit to Abdul’s Sherman Oaks home.

E! News has reported that just two or three months ago, Goodspeed tried to commit suicide by overdosing on pills outside Abdul’s residence.

Abdul was not home for either incident. She was alerted to Goodspeed’s death Wednesday morning, while at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre taping segments for Idol’s Hollywood Week.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened,” Abdul said in a statement earlier today.

But according to sources, Abdul was well aware of Goodspeed’s obsession.

Prior to her death, Goodspeed sent Abdul several threatening letters and left her packages. Goodspeed also repeatedly tried to contact Abdul, albeit unsuccessfully.

Although Paula Goodspeed hadn’t updated her Myspace page since April of 2007, she had posted a photo of Paula Abdul licking her lips under the caption, “My secret crush, shhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!”

Neither Fox nor Fremantle, the production company behind American Idol, has commented on the death.
