Democratic Sen. Dianne Wilkerson Arrested By FBI On Corruption Charges (Video/Photos)

Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson has been arrested this morning after an 18 month undercover investigation. Dianne Wilkerson, the Democratic senator was caught on tape taking a cash bribe and stuffing it into her bra. Read more about Senator Dianne Wilkerson’s arrest below.
Senator Wilkerson was seen in undercover photos and video taken by the FBI accepting cash bribes and payoffs to push a Roxbury night club’s liquor license.
“Dianne Wilkerson accepted these cash payments in exchange for her official duties and responsibilities,” said U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan during this morning’s conference at the federal courthouse.
Dianne Wilkerson will be charged this afternoon in federal court for attempted extortion under color of official right and theft of honest services as a state senator, stemming from a money-for-legislation sting operation, officials said.
A federal criminal complaint alleges that Senator Dianne Wilkerson was arrested for accepting eight bribes, totaling $23,500, in exchange for her influence on Beacon Hill. The cash payments ranged from $500 to $10,000, officials said.
In one undercover video, you see Dianne Wilkerson allegedly taking $1,000 in cash from an undercover agent and stuffing into her bra during a June 2007 lunch at No. 9 Park.
The complaint alleges that:
• In exchange for payment, Wilkerson pressured the Boston Licensing Board, the mayor and the city council and held up pending legislation in the state Senate, including legislation increasing the salaries of members of the Boston Licensing Board.
• Wilkerson ultimately introduced legislation to increase the number of liquor licenses available in Boston, and then reportedly manipulated the timing of that legislation at the request of undercover agents.
• Between June 2007 and March 2008, Wilkerson allegedly took $8,500 in cash payments from an undercover agent and cooperating witness to assist in obtaining a liquor license for the Dejavu night club in Roxbury.
• Wilkerson allegedly proposed that an undercover agent, posing as an out-of-state businessman, become involved in the development of a piece of state property in Roxbury.
• Wilkerson reportedly proposed to introduce legislation which directly designated a property to a private entity for development in order to avoid the ordinary bidding process.
Senator Dianne Wilkerson was viewed leaving her Roxbury home this morning with around 20 law enforcement officers, according to her neighbors. One neighbor said Wilkerson was in handcuffs.
If Wilkerson is convicted, she will face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Bostonians in power get scared shitface at the idea of a black powerful woman making it to higher office. If she took the bribes without conscience and for her own profit, it is still wrong; however i believe that the law enforcers around here are picky when it comes to what politician and how they want to get them where they want. Rather than spending their time on Speaker Joe Dimassi (i hope he gets locked up also) for his rip-offs, they focus on a woman who served the state more than her fellow statemen for less pay. Well, the local authorities , FBI etc are never doing what they should be doing. Investigating this woman, as opposed to the high series of civil rights violations and racist treatments as well as scarce opportunities for blacks they could be investigating in this state. And yet again, the local media never is so eager to cover anything that the many corrupt members (white for the most part) do in office. I’m sure you will find a lot of that at the state house, at the mayor’s office even. Again, as always for MA, It is plainly motivated by racism, classism, and the segregation that continue to thrives about.
Definitely politically and racially motivated.
