McCain Volunteer Ashley Todd Attacked & “B” Carved On Her Face (Pictures)

Ashley Todd, 20, was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield, and was also mutilated by her attacker by carving the letter “B” on her face, due to her support for John McCain. Read more about the McCain volunteer attack below.
Ashley Todd of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield around 9 p.m. on Wednesday when a man walked up to her and put a knife to her throat.
Diane Richard, police spokesman, said the robber took $60 from Ashley Todd, but then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on her car. The attacker punched and kicked her, and then used the knife to carve the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.
Ashley Todd was not familiar with the area, and had driven to a friend’s home, and then located the Citizen’s Bank where the attack occurred.
Ashley Todd did not speak to the press, but friends said she was in Pittsburgh volunteering for the McCain-Palin campaign.
The woman refused medical treatment after the assault. The attack was not caught on security cameras because it was just out of the camera’s viewing area.
The robber and attacker was described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
The Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, commenting on the attack. The statement said “Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.”
The McCain-Palin campaign also released a statement saying “The McCain campaign is aware of the incident involving one of its volunteers. Out of respect, the campaign won’t be commenting. The campaign also confirms that Senator McCain and Governor Palin have both spoken to the woman.”
That is pretty sick isn’t it?

I think its pretty sick that Ashley Todd even considered she could get away with telling such an outrageous story.
Guess no one ever told her what a black eye looks like when you first get them - definately not what her eye looks like in the photo. And she’d have two of them if her story were true.
And what kind of robber holds a knife to your throat, threatens to kill you, brutally punches you to the ground, then does nothing but gently scratch a letter (backwards) on to your face? This woman must have the iq of a gnat to think her story would be believed

Clearly a hoax. In the heat of the moment of a robbery at knifepoint the ”perp” is supposed to have calmly and carefully carved a perfectly rounded (backwards, wtf?) B in her face so gently that it won’t leave a scar? I can’t believe anyone is so gullible as take this woman seriously! She needs help. If she is ultimately arrested for obstruction of justice (which is a real possibility) she should plea insanity and get the help she needs. Yup. B as BS.

She called police to the scene where it happened and the police already said the B was carved in her face when they came…why would she carve a B into her face in the middle of a pittsburgh street in front of an ATM then call the cops ?

she could have easily done it before she got out of the car? i live near this street. i am absolutely shocked nobody would have seen her or heard her screaming when this happened. that corner is busy all the time at 9pm. I don’t want to say it’s fake. Maybe it is real. But I live nearby here and there is are a lot of details that are seriously fishy that people who don’t live in Pittsbrugh might not know about.
Real stories Obama has not said abnything about.

The police did NOT meet Ashley at the scene of the crime. According to her account, she drove to a friend’s house and THEN called the police. The police came and trailed Ashley back to where she got attacked.
In other words, she had plenty of time to do this to herself, if she did.

First of all, when you get punched in the eye, more than likely you’ll see swollen around the eye & blood vessels around the sclera. Her sclera are nice and white. To carve that perfect B curve with a knife in the heat of the moment like Mark here already mention thats is just ridiculous. She went to her friend’s house after the attack, the two returned to the ATM together and called the cops. She could have done it at the friend’s house or somewhere between the ATM before arriving at the friend’s house:
“WTAE’s news exchange partners the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that Todd, who isn’t familiar with the area, drove to a friend’s house and together the pair located the Citizens Bank ATM at Liberty and Pearl where the attack happened and called police.”
If such a thing happened to me I surely would not refuse medical treatment. I’d want as much evidence as possible.
The B on her cheek is far too even, even if it is backwards. Was she not fighting to get away? Surely that would have left additional scratches and cuts on her face and a less even-handed “B”.
It could have been made any number of ways, but “in the throes of violence” does not appear to be one of those ways.
You’d think that some evidence of the crime would have been caught on camera- the knife to the throat, flailing legs or something…

Besides, if someone is intent on robbing someone at an ATM they wouldn’t want to remain on the scene long enough to be caught. The claim that the perpetrator happened to notice her McCain bumper sticker and then stuck around (on a public street, risking being caught) to carve her face (rather gently) just doesn’t add up.

She admitted she made it up. She tried to influence a federal election and could have incited racial violence. She ought to go to jail for a very long time.

It is a proven hoax…as it CLEARLY was fake in the first place.
Actually only one version of Ashley’s story had her driven to the ATM by her friend. Another version that she gave on the same day, involved her locating the atm, finding her way directly back to the friends house without trouble, and then having her friend drive around until the found the same atm, at which point they called police. Ashley was never seen in any atm security video.
And as anyone who looked at her picture knows, this story is a hoax. Which Ashley has already admitted to, because the police pointed out to her that there was no way in the remotest realm of possibility that her story was true

PITTSBURGH – A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter “B” scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.
Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department’s investigations division. Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.
Todd, who is white, told police she was attacked by a 6-foot-4 black man Wednesday night. She now can’t explain why she invented the story, Bryant said.
Todd also told police she believes she cut the backward “B” onto her own cheek, but she didn’t explain how or why, Bryant said.
