“Hockey Mom” Sarah Palin took to the ice at the Wachovia Center Saturday night to kick off the town’s NHL season by dropping the ceremonial puck. At first there seemed to be lots of fans cheering but soon there was another few minutes of “booing” throughout the crowd. See the video below of Palin being booed at the hockey game.

Sarah Palin, Republican vice-presidential candidate had the honor of dropping the first puck of the season for the Philadelphia Flyer’s hockey game.
Palin stepped out onto the ice before the huge crowd to drop the puck, with her daughters Willow and Piper by her side.
“Flyers fans, show Philadelphia’s class and welcome America’s #1 hockey mom, Sarah Palin,” the jumbotron stated. But many began booing as Palin stepped out onto the ice.
Some hockey fans gave a thumbs down sign, while others called Palin names.
Palin spent about a minute or so posing for pictures with Flyers captain Mike Richards and New York Rangers assistant captain Scotty Gomez, an Alaska native. The crowd commotion was sustained for her entire time in the rink.
