Country singer Dierks Bentley, 32, and his wife Cassidy, 33, welcomed their first child Saturday near midnight. The baby girl was named Evalyn Day Bentley, and born in Nashville.

Little Evalyn weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz.. Dierks and Cassidy plan to call their baby girl “Evie” for a nickname.

Dierks Bentley’s publicist says the “Trying to Stop Your Leaving” singer is super excited about being a father. In May Dierks blogged saying “Cass’s eggo is preggo!”.

“She is the most beautiful little girl you have ever seen,” Bentley told the rep. “Cass did great, and I’m so happy!”

Dierks Bentley and Cassidy Black met in eighth grade in Phoenix. So childhood sweethearts! Sweet huh?

Congrats to Cassidy and Dierks Bentley on their new baby girl!
