OJ Simpson Guilty Verdict On All 12 Charges: Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, & Assault With Deadly Weapon (Video)
Posted on October 4, 2008
O.J. Simpson was found guilty on Friday on all 12 counts in the confrontation in a hotel room last year, including armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping. This guilty verdict comes 13 years after O.J. Simpson was acquitted in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. It looks as though justice will finally be served on O.J. Simpson! Read more below.

OJ Simpson faces 15 years to life for the kidnapping charge and a possible minimum of an extra 10 years for the other charges.
After the guilty verdict was read, the judge revoked OJ Simpson’s bail. Simpson’s sister, Carmelita cried and fainted in the front row, as Simpson was taken away in handcuffs.
“He’s extremely upset, extremely emotional,” Mr. Galanter said after his was escorted from the courtroom. “We knew this was going to be very difficult, we knew the jury was going to be very difficult, we knew the jurisdiction would be very difficult.”
These charges came from an incident in which O.J. Simpson and five other men went to raid a guest room at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino. They left with hundreds of items that were sports memorabilia, some of Simpson’s sports career as well as three other athletes.
Bruce L. Fromong and Alfred Beardsley, the two men that had the items, thought a possible buyer wanted to view the sports memorabilia. But OJ Simpson and his helpers burst into the room, with one of the men holding a gun.
The gun added to their charges, which also included conspiracy to commit robbery and kidnapping, burglary, robbery, assault and coercion.
Nine women and three men in the jury deliberated for 13 hours, going over the weeks of testimony as well as the audio recordings of the planning of the crime.
The jury contained no African Americans, which concerned Simpson’s attorneys. In contrast, eight of the twelve jurors were black when Simpson was acquitted of murder in 1995, on the charges of the stabbing death of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
Beside OJ Simpson, 61, Clarence Stewart, 54, was also convicted. Stewart faces the same sentence.
O.J. Simpson stated he only wanted to get his personal keepsakes back. But of course he was told he should have filed a civil lawsuit instead of resorting to violence to recover the items.
“We don’t want people going into rooms to take property,” Mr. Roger said in his closing arguments on Thursday. “That is robbery. You don’t go in and get a gun and demand property from people.”
Four of the 24 witnesses who testified were the other men who had accompanied Mr. Simpson and Mr. Stewart, all of whom have accepted plea deals from prosecutors in exchange for testimony. Two of them, Walter Alexander and Michael McClinton, carried guns in the incident, and one, Mr. McClinton, testified that he did so at Mr. Simpson’s request.
OJ Simpson said he had no idea the men would carry guns. Yeah, sure! Just like you didn’t murder Nicole and Ronald Goldman.
OJ Simpson’s lawyer says Simpson is extremely upset over being found guilty on all charges of kidnapping, armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
“Definitely someone like OJ Simpson, everyone has a fixed opinion of him and it’s troubling.
“I wasn’t surprised.”
A jury in the United States found Simpson guilty on all charges 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife and her friend, Ron Goldman. Karma perhaps?
During the case, jurors heard a recording of detectives gleefully celebrating Simpson’s imminent arrest in the hours after the robbery.
“You’re just pickin’ on him cause you’re mad about the verdict (in the murder case),” one detective was heard to say.
“Yep,” replied another.
Simpson got off on murder charges for the brutal murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994. Nicole Brown Simpson, who had divorced Simpson in 1992 due to his “abusive behavior”, was attacked so savagely she was almost decapitated.
Simpson, who has always vehemently denied the killings, was acquitted of murder after a racially charged Los Angeles trial in 1995, a verdict that was greeted with widespread outrage across America.
Simpson was subsequently found liable for the deaths in a 1997 civil suit and was ordered to pay damages to the victims’ families totaling $US33.5 million ($34.1 million). He has repeatedly said he will not pay the settlement.
How do you all feel about OJ’s gulity verdict? It seems a known fact that Simpson is responsible for the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and friend Ronald Goldman. Maybe egomaniac Simpson will finally get what he deserves.

OJ is extremely stupid, he should have know he was being watched and people wanted in jail because of the previous case.
if he felt the stuff belonged to him he should have gone to the authorities. He must have really needed money because the stuff he stole back couldn’t have been worth all that much to go to jail for, he deserves what he got just for being plain stupid.

I can only say that I’m not surprised of the verdict. This case was like a lion in the brush, just waiting for it’s prey to forget he’s got ememies out there in the bushes.
O.J. made a very stupid move. This man was found innocent in a court of law for the murder of a white woman, and that wasn’t acceptable- even with bogish evidence. Now, it takes something as petty as a robbery of your own personal belongings to incarcerate you for the rest of your life. I knew he would be charged with all counts because it was the only way they could satisfy their hatred of him being freed and to lock him up and throw away the key. But every one who took pride and joy in putting this man away will have to give an account to Almighty God for injustice and revege. May God have mercy on your souls as well as O.J. Simpson.
