Travis Barker Plane Crash Updates: DJ AM & Travis Barker Condition Update

The Travis Barker plane crash updates are in… and it sounds as if it was a miracle that DJ AM and Travis Barker survived Friday night’s plane crash, that killed four others on the learjet. But amidst all this tragedy, the doctor says he expects DJ AM and Travis Barker to make full recoveries.

“Since both Barker and [Adam 'DJ AM'] Goldstein are in overall good health and didn’t suffer from any other crash-related complications, a full recovery is expected,” said Dr. Fred Mullins at a press conference on Sunday morning.

In another press conference on Sunday, National Transportation Safety Board member, Debbie Hersman, stated that the plane’s crew members thought a tire burst as they started off down the runway.

Hersman said the plane’s cockpit voice recorder had been recovered from the wreckage. On it, pilots of the Learjet told air traffic controllers they heard a tire burst were going to abort takeoff.

The main cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Earlier Sunday, Travis Barker and DJ AM’s doctor discussed the guy’s injuries and said, “Anybody who can survive a plane crash is pretty lucky.”

Dr. Mullins said that Travis Barker was burned on his torso and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was burned on his hands and part of his head. Barker and AM both suffered second- and third-degree burns, and both men remain in critical but stable condition at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga.

Dr Mullins said that recovery from such serious burn injuries can take up to one year, but expects their recovery to be “much sooner than that” since they had no other injuries. These guy are so lucky!

At the press conference, Dr. Mullins gave the press a message from their families: “The families wish to thank fans from all over the world for their prayers and concern. Deepest sympathy is expressed to the loved ones of those who perished in the crash. As the two recuperate and mourn this loss, privacy for them their families and friends is requested at this time.”
