Janet Jackson performed live after seven years in self imposed semi-retirement. She started her first leg of her tour in L.A.

Jackson gave an unusual performance when she chose a member of the audience to go up on stage and participate in a simulated, raunchy act.

Jackson had an unusual version of the tomahawk hairstyle. Her lush hair was pinned up at the sides of her head to make a Mohican sort of style. She sang songs from Discipline, her latest album which was released in Feb. LL Cool J, rapper and actor, did the opening number for Jackson. Queen Latifah and Geri Halliwell were among the audience.
