Hank Williams, aka “Bocephus”, a nickname he received from his legendary father, Hank Williams Sr., has tons of hit songs that include, “Family Tradition,” “Country Boy Can Survive” and “All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down.” Even if you are not a huge fan of country music, this dude is “the man”.
Hank Williams Jr. has had six albums go platinum, and 20 that went gold. Hank Williams Jr. is a musician that crosses over easily into different styles of music, even pairing up with Kid Rock.
Williams, 59, reached an even wider audience with the “Monday Night Football” theme, which he wrote and performed.
Williams Jr. followed in the footsteps of his father Hank Sr., who was a leading pioneer of honky-tonk music. Williams Jr.’s son Hank III is also a successful country singer.
BMI, Broadcast Music Inc., a performing rights organization, will hold its annual country awards Nov. 11 in Nashville.
