Julie Horner Lankamp was found dead in her Manhattan apartment with her crying 2 year-old daughter, Shaine, clutching her mother’s legs.

Wednesday night, detectives were trying to follow leads in the very mysterious death of Julie Horner Lankamp, a former CNN producer.

Julie Horner Lankamp’s body was found bloodied and bruised on the floor of her 28th floor Gold Street apartment in Manhattan on Tuesday. At this time, police have not determined if she was the victim of foul play or if Lankmap had an accidental drug overdose.

Lankamp’s relatives had not heard from Julie since Sunday, so police are not sure how long Lankamp’s little 2 year-old daughter, Shaine, had been stranded with her mother’s dead body. But thankfully, the little girl seemed to be in good health.

Police will be interviewing Lankamp’s abuse ex-husband, but sources have stated that Lankamp’s death could have been accidental.

Julie Horner Lankamp was found with a broken jaw and dried blood pooled near her nose and mouth, but the injuries may have been suffered during a fall after an inadvertent drug overdose, sources said.

Medical examiners have told detectives that her injuries do not appear to be from a beating, but more likely from decomposition. T

Toxicology tests were being performed on Lankamp, who took a variety of prescription medications for diabetes and kidney trouble, sources said. Investigators found an empty envelope, containing a residue of cocaine, near her body, said sources.

Julie Horner Lankamp had filed for divorce from her husband, Dutch national Edwin Lankamp back in March, only several months after he was arrested for attacking her with a chair, using their daughter as a human shield.

Edwin Lankamp pleaded guilty to harassment and a state court filed an order of protection against him.

Julie Horner Lankamp worked as a producer for CNN from 1995 to 1998 and in 2002, she founded Melon Media, which designs Web sites and produces live-action video.

Our condolences to the Lankamp family and friends.

This is sad. Julie was a brilliant and funny person with a big heart, who loved her daughter, she must have been in a very bad place to have done that on purpose, this was an accident and I don’t think Julie would have done that with her daughter there.Something is not right.
I hope the police don’t screw uo the investigation and I truly hope they are able to find something conclusive so we can all rest knowing there wasn’t foul play.
      Julie will be missed!
