Christian singer, Ray Boltz, has now come out of the closet publicly to say that he is gay, in an interview with the Washington Blade. Read Gospel singer, Ray Boltz’s interview below.

Ray Boltz, was married and even has four children, and came out as gay to his friends and family years ago. As the family was sitting around the table at his daughter’s house in December 2004, the day of the Tsunami, Boltz’s son, Philip, wanted to know what was wrong with his father.
“I thought, ‘Well, I can just do what I always do and hide the truth or I can take a risk and be honest,’” Boltz said. “That day, with the tsunami, has become very symbolic in our family.”
Nobody knew exactly what would happen, how this admission would affect himself, and those around him.
“It’s hard to say I came out because I didn’t have all the answers. I just admitted what I was struggling with and what I was feeling. It’s hard to go, ‘This is the point where I accepted my sexuality and who I was,’ but I came out to them and shared with them what I’d been going through.”
Boltz said he just couldn’t pretend any longer, it was time to let the truth come out.
“I’d denied it ever since I was a kid. I became a Christian, I thought that was the way to deal with this and I prayed hard and tried for 30-some years and then at the end, I was just going, ‘I’m still gay. I know I am.’ And I just got to the place where I couldn’t take it anymore … when I was going through all this darkness, I thought, ‘Just end this.’”
Ray Boltz said it took awhile for his family to come around.
“I don’t want to downplay it like it was just, ‘Oh, well that’s OK.’ It was a very tough time for them too, but the bottom line was they loved me and they still love me … it’s been an amazing journey of acceptance on their part … I was offered support and love from each member of my family, including my wife.”
Although Ray Boltz came out years ago, he finally made it public by officially coming out in an interview with The Washington Blade.

I think all this Christian or sinner or for that matter any other religion is quite besides the point. The main thing is does it harm in the long run or not. Is homosexuality essentially evil? In my opinion, there are things which violates another person’s fundamental rights. Things such as theft (right to property), murder (right to life), human trafficing, slavery, subjugation etc. (right to liberty) as also physical and mental torture and violation of privacy. Anything that does not violate another person’s rights and lead to love and understanding cannot be a sin or essentially evil. Certain things do have harmful effects in the long term and people, especially young people need to be careful so as not to harm their future growth and career. Obviously Mr. Ray Bolt does not fall in this category and his actions are well thought out and sincere. His thoughts and actions are commendable. I salute his honesty.

“Thou shalt not lie with MANkind, as with WOMANkind: it is ABOMINATION.”
There doesn’t need to be a “Period” in the verse. No means no, how hard is that to understand?

Does the fact the there are six different comments with six different philosophies make anyone think? No two people in the world would agree 100% on everything about homosexuality. Bottom line is, God doesn’t hate homosexuals nor does he tolerate homosexuality or ANY sin for that matter. None of us are above sin. I battle different things than Ray Boltz but its all sin to God. We all need a Savior! Christ paid the debt for our sins and if we don’t except that and believe it we will spend eternity without God.

Just because someone has a genetic predisposition toward something doesn’t make it morally OK.
For example, someone may have a genetic predisposition toward alcoholism or pedophelia. . . but that does not make their disorder morally acceptable and they must fight to overcome it. Same with homosexuality. . . because, whether people like to hear it or not, it is a sexual disorder. . . and Christians (or anyone of goodwill) who do nothing to combat these tendencies will not inherit the Kingdom of God, which is stated very plainly in Scripture.
You don’t give a rip about Scripture? Oh well. . . someday you’ll know its true whether you like it or not.

Wow, I’m just sitting here saddened and troubled over this news. How far down the slippery road of compromise have we come as a church to somehow come to the conclusion that the homosexual lifestyle is acceptable to the Lord? We have numerous examples in scripture that make the matter of homosexuality as a sinful lifestyle crystal clear such as Leviticus 18:22 “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable” and even in the New Testament in 1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders”. I was told years ago by a professor, when I was still in Bible College, something that has stuck with me as a real truth about the heart of mankind in his ability to follow a sinful path or pursuit a life of righteousness. He said, “There are those who are lovers of truth, and then there are those who choose to be deceived.” Ray, I’m praying for you that God will, in his compassion and mercy, speak to your heart with truth and love, and you someday will be set free of this sexual addiction which torments you.

You mean to tell me people are still quoting Leviticus 18:22 as a statement that gay is wrong??? Good Lord people! Please take the time to study the bible and stop taking versus out of context. Leviticus is old Jewish law separating the Jews from the cannanites. Read all of the scripture surrounding that verse and apply it today. Yea.. That’s what I thought. Oh, and by the way. We will be praying for you Ray Boltz! The church has enjoyed your music for years. The Church is praying that your eyes will be opened to the truth. The Church is praying that your children will not follow in your horrible example. Wake up before it is too late!
The Bible clearly says that homosexuality is abhorrent. Oral and anal sex cause disease and cancer and shorten the lifespan of people who do this. That is not God’s plan for people to die of Aids because they refuse to trust God and believe his Word.
This is not just one scripture. It is all the way through the Bible that God condemns homosexual behavior.
Homosexuality is nothing more than pornography. It has been proven that there is no genome for homosexuality. That is a lie by the liberals to gain government funding and control of taxpayer money for abortions.

This is just heartbreaking. Ray Boltz has been deceived by the Great Deceiver (Satan) just like others who get tired of fighting their demons. As Max Lucado compassionately says, God loves us as we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay as we are. His Word is very specific about certain sins, and the homosexual ACT is an abomination to God. How much more succinct does He need to be?

Why does everyone keep quoting Leviticus? The warning against homosexuality is right here in the New Testament:
“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” – 1 Cor. 6:9–10.

They are not finding any proof that homosexuality is genetic. You are obviously just repeating lies you’ve heard. In fact everyone needs to stop repeating what they’ve heard and find the studies which back up their claims.
You are not born gay. It is a combination of multiple influences, one of which (perhaps the most common) is homosexual sex or molestation. There are psychological repercussions to nearly everything that happens in a child’s life, and just because they repress their first homosexual encounter doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I also want to say that it is really annoying for people to say, homosexuals were born that way, when they only believe it about others and not themselves. I’m willing to bet anyone (gay) here had some type of unnatural sexual experience in their childhood which started the ball rolling. The sad thing is that the gay community is misdirecting when they blame their homosexuality on genetics, rather than on the events which were painful when they occurred, and continue to need attention. You’re basically trying to get people to accept and love you without actually being genuine and open about what caused the problem in the first place. You feel like everyone is blaming you and they keep yelling “it’s a choice”. It’s not a choice. Or at least not yours. It was the choice of the bastard who molested you. After that it was no longer your choice. The misdirection occurs when you blame it on nature instead of the abuser. Healing can occur. But it can’t happen unless the correct problem(s) is addressed.

This debate will continue for some time to be sure. What is not important are opinions. Facts are what shape truth. There is nothing at all out of place quoting the Word of God in everyday situations, the key is that the forgiveness as well as correction and conviction that is needed here is present along with the scripture verse. God is a God of second chances, and I believe Ray will someday come back to the God of the Universe and in the end be stronger for it. All have fallen into sin, and Christ provides a way back from that lifestyle and there is hope if Ray Boltz is willing to change his desire from simply fulfilling his fleshly lusts and instead focus it on the only true and real fulfillment for man’s heart and that’s a deep relationship with the Son of God.

I am not sure what to think or feel. I met Ray Boltz as a new Christian when he wasn’t very popular. I think it was late 80’s or early 90’s. The group who showed up to his concert, which was at an AG church, was very small and we sat around and chatted for several hours. I remember telling him I had worn his Watch the Lamb tape out.
I’m saddened by his belief that he is gay. Satan is so very deceptive. The Bible says in the last days, even the very elite will be deceived. I believe he truly thinks he’s gay and has the right answers and that God accepts it. Will he go to hell? Only God is judge, but the Bible tells us that homosexuals will not enter into the kingdom and that laying with the same sex is an abomination to God. How can one have a truly changed heart and be born-again and accept this lifestyle as okay when the Bible CLEARLY says otherwise?
People have to shed their own wants and desires to become like Christ. I have always wondered if homosexuality was a mental illness because I have never known a homosexual who did not have many other MAJOR life issues and traumas from childhood that were never resolved for them. It’s a symptom of their trauma.
People will call good evil and evil good. This is where we have to take a stand and say, this is wrong. God says it and I believe it. I may not understand it, but God’s way is just and holy and it’s the only thing we can rest in 100%.

You are very blessed to have an opened-eye of approach to others and the bible. You will touch many lives no doubt with the wisdom God has given you. Always remember this too….. with what ever God has given you means He trusts you. So If you can help many you can also hurt many by your actions or decisions. I think this accurately portrays Ray. I’ve read alot of comments on Ray Boltz and
it saddens me. I know that it’s peoples reaction to his personal decision that is affecting people in various ways. I know our life affects others in so many more ways that we will ever know. I think Ray wrote a song about that,,,, Thank You.
One thing as I get older I’ve come to see more clearly, God never intended for His word to be used as a baseball bat to hit others in the heador in the heart with. I love the scripture that say’s ….God’s goodness brings repentance… the goodness of God can be interpreted in so many ways… Well, take for instance the potters house is full of divers kinds of vessels,,, some are made different for different uses, but yet they all serve His purpose. I think sometimes, we as christians try to serve our own purpose and prove our own points instead of just being quiet and just living Jesus to the world, after all, He never walked down the streets and proclaimed he was the KING. People knew it. Ray Bolts has been touched by God. Once you have been truly touched by God, you are never the same. Ray can run but he can’t hide. Have faith in God. Pray for Ray and thank God for His faithfulness. After all He is God!

I must have missed it when they said they’ve proven Homesexuality genteically. There was a Huge first page article 15 years ago about a “GAY’ Doctor finding some type of evidence with cadavers and then two weeks later, there was a retraction printed somewhere in the back of the paper saying that the findings have been proven not to be 100 percent accurate.. It’s been downhill since then. His control group was set-up to purposely reveal what he wanted it to. It has NOT been proven Genetically. It is only a Theory much like the Big Bang is. The key word is THEORY. I’m sure people would love for it to be genetic so that they feel like they have more of an excuse.

There is nothing wrong with you and you don’t need any counselling or mens’ group (because all of them are still gay just going through denial) you are a real man for being real. For years I thought I was a christian
until God opened my eyes to see that
the nature in which we are born is not
the nature in which God originally
created Adam. It is a sin nature
that needs to be reborn… thus the
term “You must be born again” to enter
in to the Kingdom of Heaven is necessary.
I begged God one evening when he made
me see my sinful condition. (lusts
of the flesh) I began hating who
I was and begged God to renew in me a new spirit and YES!!!,
He took away my love for sin and
replaced it with an undying desire
to fulfill God’s will to walk in the
Spirit and not in the lusts of the
flesh anymore thereafter. I struggle
in the flesh, But in my mind I press
on to walk in the Spirit and deny
the lusts thereof. I pray for Ray
that he would come out of the dark
(the closet of sin) and into the light
that would bring him power to
overcome his sin. It is a fight
in which Paul spoke of… a war
between the members until the
day our bodies are restored
as the we put on the incorruptible
at the day we meet the LORD in the
air. All of creation moans
and groans waiting for that
day of adoption to “wit” of
the sons of GOD! (1 Cor. 15)
Jesus said, “Pray that ye ENTER
not into Temptation – the Spirit
is welling BUT the Flesh is WEAK”
If the fleshly desire to commit
sexual immorality is present than
we must pray that we enter not
into that temptation and be
delivered of the LORD Jesus. I would
question my salvation if I continued
to walk in “darkness” as I once
did before God called me to walk
in the “light” as He is in the light.
We are to to put off the “old man” and be
recreated in the “image” of God
a “new man” in Christ Jesus such as it was
before the fall…
Jesus died that we may be set free
from the bondage of sin. (We all
have sinned – broken God’s commands
and have been condemned by the curse
of the law) If we break the law
in ONE point we are guilty of breaking
the law in all. (James 2) God knows
our weaknesses and was tempted in
every way that we are… yet without
sin. So we much trust Him to teach
us his ways and believe He can
give us the strength to endure
trials (in the flesh) whether
by persecution or afflictions or
temptations. We can prevail in our
minds and do the will off GOD
through prayer. NOTHING can separate
us from the LOVE of Christ. He is
the only Hope we have to strengthen
us in this present world.
Before we can gain strength we
must first admit our weaknesses
and turn them over to the LORD
begging him to help us repent
(godly sorrow produces repentance
not to be repented of) If we
humble ourselves and admit we
sin and not make excuses than
God can help us be overcomers
in both the flesh as well as
the spirit. Praise the LORD!

First of all, 1 corinthians 6:18 says that sexual sin is committed against the body and that every other sin is committed outside of the body. So when Fred says that the homosexual life doesn’t harm anyone, he seems to have forgotten the fact that you can harm yourself. Fred wanted a “period” at the end of “man shall not lie with another man as man lies with a woman”…but the following line in the verse is “it is an abomination”….seems like a PERIOD to me. Also, in the other laws written down that Fred quoted, yes some were simply instructing the Israelite’s to separate themselves from the idolatrous nations surrounding them, but those laws aren’t followed by “it’s an abomination”. It seems to me like your fishing…digging up anything that might help you out and blaming anything else on context or translation. If you are in fact correct, homosexuality was prominent in the cultures when Paul was writing his letters, so why wouldn’t he clearly tell the churches that some are born homosexual so we should support and condone them? It seems like paul either missed the memo, or your cutting him off in translation. And since you claim there was no term for “homosexual” till the mid 1900s, I’d lean towards the latter. It says “God created man for women” and I don’t feel I need to go into an anatomy plumbing lecture to make my point there. But beyond the scriptural debate, in my experience, christians are the most hostel towards gay people….how sad! We should welcome the sinner and hate the sin….I would hope that homosexuals would feel the most love by christians, but unfortunately that’s not the case. I’ve lusted, that’s a sexual sin. I’ve repented of that, but I’m going to fall again, that’s my sin nature. The issue comes when you find peace in sin and look for ways to justify it.

It is very sad that we are even sitting here reading this about one of our fellow brothers in CHRIST. It is true that most christians are very tough on gay people, but they forget that they was once on their way to HELL before GOD found them and gloriously saved them from their sin. But it is a sad day to hear this about Ray Boltz, because satan is truly at work, and we the christians will be put on trial before the world over this about what the word of GOD says about this issue. We will probably see other christians come out and say they are gay, and how they hate themselves and they cant take it any longer. okay, so when i first heard about this, i was heartbroken. ray boltz was my favorite singer growing up. all of his songs touched my heart in a way that only God could. i agree with those who say that homosexuality is a sin. but who are we to judge him for his sin? everyone sins. lying. stealing. getting drunk. cheating. coveting. all of these sins that we deal with and struggle with every day. who are we to say that his sins are worse than our own? we arent! that’s only up to God. God knows Ray’s heart. i think that we all, as Christians, should band together in support for Ray and the struggle that he is facing. we need to lift him up in prayer and not be debating about whether it’s a sin or not and whether homosexuality is genetic or a choice or a combination of both. that’s not our place. our place is to stand beside Ray as his brothers and sisters. that’s what we should be doing.

Since the beginning God created man and woman. This was God’s chosen means for pro-creation. Not one of us would exist if it were not for GOD creating us, but the means he has used is Man and A Woman. If that is the means God used to create you and me, then it is the only natural means for sexual relations between man and a woman. Sin is anything that is opposite of God, his laws or his will. Our sins take us further and further away from God. I am not saying sinful people do not inherit the Kingdom of God, many will. However, no one who is in outright enmity against God will inherit God. God must be our Lord and Our Savior, not just our Savior. We don’t just choose him, he has to choose us. THis is clear in scripture. (Jacob I loved and Esau I have hated). This was before they were even born. This should put the fear of GOd in all of us. The fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom. Homosexuality is a abomination towards God. Homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Those who claim they have some disposition towards this kind of sexual behavior are decieving themselves and others, living in sin and living in darkness. This kind of behavior is not genetics, it is sinful. We are all sinful, yet it is clear in scripture we are not to be continually living in sin. God is light and in him there is no darkness. Homosexuality is darkness. Either the bible is our source of validation or it is not. You cannot pick and choose the parts you like or don’t like. It is all or none. You can argue with it, but most times it is because you have created a God that is Finite like you and “god of the fiction of your imagination”. God’s ways are not our ways, he is inifinitely holy, we are finite. We are closer to the worm than we are to God.
God sent his son to redeem his sheep. He was our perfect redeemer. He was Born a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life and died in perfection. He had to be born of a virgin so that the sin that was passed on from Adam was not passed from the man. That is why scripture refers to Christ as the “second Adam”. When he died on the cross God poured his wrath onto Christ for sinners,it was more than just a death on a cross. Many have died deaths on a cross.However, Jesus did not die for all sinners had then everyone would be saved. If he died for all, then all would believe. If Jesus did something on the cross, his purpose will be accomplished! Are you a sheep? Is anything stopping you from coming to Christ? If not then repent and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing is stopping you from doing so other than your sin! God does the saving. Yes he saves wretched sinners just like you and me. We sin even after salvation. However we do not go on living in this utter state of depravity because we no longer have hearts of stone, we have hearts of flesh. Our thoughts are not like they used to be. God has regenerated our hearts. If Ray is truly saved he will do what is pleasing to his Lord and Savior and brings the most Glory to his name. Ray repent of your sins. This is not something you must do, but all of us are commanded to do it. We all won’t, but apart from our repentance, no one will inherit the Kingdom of God. God Loves his creation, but his Love for the elect is even greater. It is a Eternal Love since before the Foundations of the earth, a love that we cannot “choose out of our own free will, We are adopted Sons and Daughters of the king. Those who are adopted don’t just choose who they are adopted by. Grace is not something we choose, it is given freely. But I tell you apart from repentance our sins are not forgiven. I am not saying whethe Ray is saved or not. That is between him and God. My responsiblity is to state the truth as it is in the word of God and to pray and tell Ray to repent of his Sin. Ray if he is in fact a christian knows this. It is very clear in scripture. Ray can’t deal with his sin on his own. He is dependant upon God to forgive him, yet he must repent. God is Sovereign and man is totally responsible. IF we rely on our own responsibility we are sinning. The means God has used is his word to teach you, me and Ray, that apart from an Act of God and Ray repenting he will die in his sins. The bible says you shall know them by their fruits. Homosexuality is not a fruit. It is a curse. It has lead to numerous diseases and ultimate eternal death, if that lifestyle is kept up. Nothing good comes from it, no blessings of life or eternally. It is a idol of flesh. IF anyone participates in it they are saying this unnatural desire I have is more important than the means God chose for me to be united as one woman and one man! Yes in the old testament men had multiple wives and this was denounced in the new testament.
Say what you may, the bible can be your only source of contention and ultimately God and his Holy Word. It is not me as I am just a servant of my awesome Lord and Savior. Perfect by no means, very sinful, but absolutely forgiven. It does not matter what you think about my salvation or whether you think I am wrong. If I truly fear God, I cannot fear man or what he thinks or can do to me, because I know God’s will will happen apart from anything you or I can say or do.
Ray I will pray for you. Look to Christ and his word. Saturate your mind with Scripture. You are in a total state of sin and must call on the name of the Lord. Repent to God first, make things right with your Bride and family. Do not pass down this sin to your heirs and their children. Look around your family exists as a result of your marriage and sexual relations with your wife. Don’t let your thoughts be warped and depraved.
Yes people King David sinned and so did Abraham and many others in the bible, but the common thread that these men had in common, if they were truly saved and used by God was they repented and realized they had sinned and cried out for mercy. And don’t think for one moment there was not consequences for their actions. There certainly was, they paid for it dearly in their lives and their posterity paid for it for many generations. The nation, the poeple that takes their eyes off of God will perish as our God is jealous God and he will not share his glory with another. Especially the idol of homosexuality!

The best thing we can do for Ray is to command him to repent. You are absolutely right we should show him Love and the means God created for us to pray for him. However, we don’t love what he did and scripture is very clear in 1 CORINTHIANS 5:1-13, please read it. While at face value this may seem harsh or critical we are commanded from God to practice this kind of “tough love”. Now if anyone is not saved this will be nearly impossible if not impossible to understand. But we are to turn Ray over to Satan if he does not repent, “so that his spirit may be saved in the day of our Lord”. And you know what our prayer should be that he does repent and we then will welcome him back in with open loving arms… This is a beautiful picture of Christ. AJ we are not doing Ray any good sealing him in his sins and acting as if “we are all sinners” and we all do bad things. This is true, but the sin of homosexuality is not only a sin against God, but we are sinning against our own bodies. This kind of sin sexual sin is spoken about.
I say this with utmost love and encouragement to you and all that are thinking the way you are. Ray’s house is on fire and we are not doing him any good by not waking him up at 3:00am because we don’t want to offend him. We need to tell him of his sin against a holy God and command him to Repent and call upon the God of the Bible, The God of Moses, The God of you, me and Ray to forgive him of his sin. and if he does what a glorious day that will be.

Read 1 CORINTHIANS 5:12-13….we are to judge those inside the church (those who claim to be believers), but are not to judge those on the outside (unbelievers). God is the judge of us all, but when those on the inside (church) are living sinfully in outright opposition of scripture we have a responsibility to guard the treasure that was entrusted to us.

I can understand how you feel that way. I used to be there. However, until God opens your eyes and you wake up from your spiritual death, you will never see the truth of the Word of God for what it is. Apart from a act of God opening your spiritual eyes, you will not see.
If you really believe we opposed everything Jesus preached, read the Bible and see for yourself. Some of the things Jesus said make things above seem like “puppy dog” statements.

If he wasn’t we would have no cause for judging his actions. We can judge those who are in the church of Jesus Christ, not just our independent hometown churches but the universal Church of Jesus Christ.
Shame on you for thinking otherwise. When Jesus was talking about casting the stone he was preaching to the pharasees who tried to live by the law and were incapable of doing so themselves, he did not condone the prostitutes sin. Someone please tell me if he has divorced his wife and children and gone on to a gay lifestyle or if he is simply confessing something that he has “felt” his whole life. The thing here is that Ray needs our prayers, I have been brought to tears by his music and now by his “confession”. Hurray for Ray! I am glad he had the fortitude to come out of the closet. Here’s a note to all of you who have come out in defense of him here on this board. Don’t waste your time trying to convince these Christians to reconsider their opinion. They aren’t listening! As for me, I used to believe exactly as they did. I am an evangelical preacher and a heterosexual. I changed my views about Scripture when:
1. I noticed that lesbianism was never condemned in the Old Testament Law and I prayed and thought through the few OT Scriptures that seemed to oppose homosexuality only to find out I was wrong.
2. I began to read and research science and sociology and realized that individuals are born predisposed to heterosexuality or homosexuality.
3. I chose to go and meet gays and lesbians in their environment…..a gay bar. Then I realized that they were normal people not some perverted deviants.
4. I realized that it is not homosexuals that have an agenda but rather the religious right that has an agenda and they point to a homosexual agenda to disguise their own agenda.
So stop wasting your time everyone trying to argue with and convince Christians. For the most part they aren’t listening nor are they willing to dialogue with an open mind. They are like the little child who does not want to hear what he is being told and they have their fingers in their ears yelling, “Lalalalalala I can’t hear you!”
P.S. So can any Christian out there show me an Old Testament Law (don’t quote me Romans 1…I said Old Testament) that condemns Lesbianism. I’ll give $100 bucks to the first Christian to show me this Bible Verse.

Well, I ask and pray that God would
forgive you all and not hold your

what you are doing. The apostle Paul
was prayed for when Stephen was stoned
and God had mercy on Him. I pray the
same for you all who are in darkness.

death to everyone involved. The wife
of Ray is dying inside and so is his
children. He is not being loyal to
her. Even if he didn’t feel a sexual
attraction to her, he must keep his
vows to her and to God. He makes
her commit adultury now if she
goes and replaces him with another
man in her life. She either
must remain unmarried or be
“reconciled” to him…. that
is her only choice. (1 Cor. 5) Just think about
the reprocusions of his selfish
actions. I pray He will wake up
to what he is doing and go back

I love it how people say they “used” to like his music. Guess what, he still is an awesome singer. I don’t know about you, but my god loves everyone. Straight or gay. It’s a shame so many christians are led into hatred. Brian, I think you have a basic misunderstanding about Christians. We believe the Bible. It’s our standard of live and practice. We believe it’s God’s word. So if someone’s lifestyle totally contradicts the Bible, Christians have to side with the Bible. Since it is God’s word we have to logically conclude that God is also against the person who goes against his word. It has NOTHING to do with hatred.
I don’t hate Ray Boltz. But he has sinned against God in choosing to live a gay lifestyle contrary to God’s word. The “god” you say loves everyone is only in your mind (no offense intended). He does not exist in the pages of Scripture. God is loving AND JUST, and he cannot be any other way.
As for starving and abused children, I think if you take a look you’ll see that MOST organizations that help feed the poor on this planet are Christian based. There is a lot to be done, but if it weren’t for the Christians this world would be a lot worse.

Two Gay Men
Ray Boltz the contemporary Christian singer is gay. He says so openly now and “came out”. After 30 some years of marriage, 4 children and a blessed career as a musician, Ray now finally is a whole person, no longer hiding behind a façade.
Great. Kudos for him.
I, too, am gay. I, too, have been married for over 30 years, have a family, grandchildren and been involved in the church for over 30 years. (I think this is the first time I ever wrote, I am gay, and something stirs deep inside of me as I write these words.)
But, unlike Ray, I have not come out. I am in the closet, living my life , to the general public and to my family, as a straight man with some rather peculiar tastes.
For instance, I love interior decorating. The placement of furniture, the harmony of color and patterns, the play of light on walls and floors, these all are a part of my intrinsic nature. I love music, flowers, books, and antique furniture. I detest mess, upheaval, chaotic schedules and generally dirt in all forms. I am particular what clothes I wear, try to take care of my appearance and want to make a good impression on the people I meet.
So, does that make me gay?
No, it just makes me suspicious to the gay sniffers. I could be counted as gay.
What makes me gay?
I am attracted to males. Something about their physique, looks, and mannerisms just simply turn me on. Majorly.
The line of a jaw, the look in the eye, the bulging muscles, the slim torso, the straight legs, all these are enough to make me want to hug, to touch, to…yes, have some kind of sex with them.
I say some kind of sex, because you see, I have not really ever engaged in homosexual behavior unless you count the three times I and another teen-aged boy jerked each other off in bed.
Not quite honest. I also touched several boys in a camp out when they were sleeping. Didn’t really do anything to them, but I ejaculated into my shorts.
Oh, and once another man took my hand and placed it on his penis, but again, I drew away, asked in a hopefully astonished voice, “What are you doing?” and then when he quit, ejaculated once more.
So, my actual experiences were minimal and I never had oral or anal sex with any male.
I watched Brokeback Mountain and swelled up at several scenes. I drew quick breaths as the two men hugged passionately and watched in envy at the camaraderie they had. I wanted to get inside the circle of pure passion they seemed to have.
Yeh, I masturbated. Religiously in my teens, and then when I became a Christian at 20, only sporadically after that, until I got married.

I even thought of trying weekend trips. Especially after that preacher guy in Colorado was exposed after visiting a male prostitute and initially said he was just going to get a back rub. Some back rub it turned out to be.
Personal ads. With pictures. Swelling penis, dry mouth, intense longing in my groin. All of that.
Why didn’t I, like Ray, come out? What kept me?
Sometimes I still don’t know. Even as I write, I feel the old emptiness and longing want to creep in. I feel the urge to go into the bathroom, out of my office cubicule and masturbate.
Do you understand the intense longing I went through? Can you imagine the agony I went through to stay away from my daughter’s boyfriend who is one good looking hunk?
Probably not. Unless you’re gay.
Here is the part that many of you won’t like. Even the straight men and women.
Jesus changed me.
I know, you have heard that countless times and you are tired of hearing it. Give your heart to Jesus and you will be over it. No longer gay. Straightened out, pun intended.
Not with me. Notice I didn’t say I was gay. I am gay. Still am, even after Jesus.
When I was baptized, filled, or otherwise touched by the Holy Ghost, something happened.
First of all, I wept.
Copiously.
I wept because I knew I had huge needs. I wept for the wrongs I had done. I wept because I began understanding love in a different way.
I wept for what Jesus is doing for me. Not has done, but is doing. I felt His presence in such a wonderful way, that at the moment, I was empty of same sex longing.
I loved my wife in a new way. Our sex turned into a worship experience. I remember rolling off her one night, weeping and saying, “Jesus!” It was that good.
I learned to worship.
Flinging my arms around, dancing, jumping, crying, singing, turning into one of those crazy teen-agers I used to see in photos. Now, I was one.
I could not get enough of Jesus. I hungered for Him. I thirsted for Him. I could not wait until I had time to worship again.
I stopped masturbating. I stopped checking out porn sites on the internet.
It wasn’t even hard. Not at first. Still isn’t, most of the time.
There was such a surge of emotions going through my entire body that I was like, well born again. Again.
For, with vivid clarity, my first born again experience came back to me. This was it all over again!
I sang! I laughed! I danced!
I liked being crazy. My wife liked it, too. We were crazy together.
No, I did not do the Ray Boltz thing and “come out” Now let me tell you why.
First of all, because, yes, of Jesus.
I know He died for me. Rose again. Gives me power. Loves me. Tells me what is best for me. Let’s me experience heaven on earth.
Secondly, because of my family.
Does Ray have grandchildren? Little ones that love their Grandpa and spend time with him? Does he have a little granddaughter that wants to take walks, look at flowers, and delights to be read to?
Oh, you say, he can still do that.
Do his children now tell their children that their Grandpa has chosen another way that is not acceptable to Jesus? Can they understand?
Or are they enlightened and say nothing about it, but they grow up wondering why Grandpa and Grandma no longer live together and why life seems so different now?
Well, that’s what would happen to me if I came out. My family would no longer really be my family.
Old fashioned, you say.
Yep.
Does Ray’s wife now have to go to therapy as she wonders what she did to make Ray gay? Or what she doesn’t have that he wants?
My mind races into roads that I will not travel. My wife weeping. My children devastated. My grandchildren bewildered.
Plus, I can not take it when I think of how Jesus would feel.
Oh, He already knows, you say.
Yes, He knows my feelings. He knows that my male attractions still come up and I at times still wonder just how it would feel to have a man love me.
But, you see, I now have a man that loves me. Jesus.
I put all my earthly feelings on the altar because of that. I die daily, sometimes hourly, because I love that Man that made all this possible. This, as in the ecstacity of worship, of being forgiven, of praying and all the places that He still is taking me to.
I love men. I am gay.
But I love a Man more.
I am learning what it is to have someone love me unconditionally, all the time and even able to let me hear Him call out my name, touch me with his hand.
I want to give back all I can, not because I have to, but because I want to.
So, here I am, a gay man, living straight.
I won’t come out of the closet. Because of Jesus.
I don’t understand, either. But I choose to deny the cries of my flesh in order to follow the Man I love. And, strangely, I find it not so frustrating anymore. I still feel it, but the more I open myself up to the Spirit, He fills me in ways I never knew possible. Perhaps, someday, even on earth, I will feel it no more. But, like someone else wrote thousands of years ago, “Though you slay me, still I will trust in You.”
You see, Jesus loves me.

To all of Gods children that are strightand judgemental….. I just have a few things to say. Let God and the son of God…. Jesus do there job. Quit trying to be the JUDGE………. I am in the same boat as Ray…. I will not let no man put me under. God is in control of my life and no it’s not perfect. God made me for who I am, I don’t understand my life but God does. One day I am going to get to set down and talk with him and ask him why? But I think we have more importan things to worry about than someones sexuality. God is God and he does not change. If you felt the spirit of God in Rays songs then you should still feel that same spirit, that same spirit that raised Jesus up from

I pray each of you aren’t to old to be parents or grandparents. I pray each of you are aunts and uncles. As sinners, we can’t love our neighbors as ourselves, we find it easier to love our children and blood relations, thus when your son or your daughter or nephew or niece tells you they are gay…prayerfully you may actually listen to Jesus and “love one another”. Ray I have traveled in Gospel music longer than you I suppose and used some of your beautiful songs down through the years in my ministry…I am hurt to think that we have fallen so far as to think that what was wrong in the old Bible is “right” now…Who are we to change the Word to fit our lifestyles? God doesn’t change folks no matter what you say or how loud you say it. He was the same yesterday (during the days of Sodom and Gomora), the same today, and thank God He will be the same forever.

Choosing to be gay is a sin. There is no explaining it away. If you think you are born this way youdeceive yourself for the purpose of justification and legitimizing it. Like any other sin it requires you to lie first to yourself then to others.
Yes, I believe Ray is still saved but in a back slidden state. There is NO EXCUSES for being gay. The fact you may “love” someone in a gay relationship does not excuse it. the fact that GAY scientists and sympathetic scientists say that they THEORIZE gay predsiposition or nature is not fact to base anything on. God does not write confusion in His word…those denying His word do so at their own peril. I do not sit in judgment of them as they bring it upon themselves. I won’t speak around it either. I am a sinner and I mUST deal with thoughts, dees, my words, my actions of which in the world homosexuality is bu one. There will be one issue that will make it difficult for people and that’s saying a sin is not a sin when God CLEARLY says it is. I would be just as wrong to say adultry is okay or that “white” lies are okay as long as they hurt no one.

All I have to say is this! Thank You So Much Ray Boltz for all the wonderful years of music. You have the voice of an angel. But I will tell everyone this leave the man alone what he has going on is between him and God NOBODY else. I am a GAY man who is also a christian and for all of the SO CALLED christians on here just stoning this man to death. It also says in the Bible that we should not judge someone else. It says we need to pull the 2×4 out of our eye before we try to pull the splinter out of our neighbors. AND one sin is just as bas as another so if you over eat, tell lil’ white lies, looked at a man or woman the wrong way, etc. you are just as bad as you claim Ray to be. There is no such thing as a homosexual Christian. In the book of Leviticus, homosexuality is described as “a detestable sin.” And in the book of 1st Corinthians, we are warned that those who practice homosexuality will never inherit God’s Kingdom. (See Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 and 1st Corinthians 6:9 and 10).
I say this out of my wife and I feeling betrayed by a man who spent 20 years in ministering the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I was also kicked out of a blog discussion group because I presented these scriptures when I said prayer was needed here. So, I can say this here.
If we fully accept God’s Word as the truth, we can’t fool ourselves. The idea that it’s okay to be homosexual and be a Christian is not in God’s Word. What is there are the warnings that if we don’t repent of sin, we’ll never enter His Kingdom. It’s because of that sin the Lord Jesus came to die for us. Only by our repentance can we join Him when our lives here are done.
We must keep people like that in prayer. We also must speak the undiluted, uncorrupted Truth to them.

I am truly saddened by this news. I only found out this news last evening.I so love his music and it has been a comfort and strenght to me for many years. I will not judge Ray for this sin, as we know that is what GOD calls it, and pray that GOD will break through this area in his life. Whomever said that following our Wonderful Savior, was going to be a piece of cake. As follow believers we must realize that the enemy in NOT after those in the world, but those who love and believe in the SON of God. Ray is no different from you and me. We all battle our own demons; we all have weaknesses and struggles. Ray just happens to be battling the sin of homosexuality. The church should stand with him and offer their help, support and compassion. Remember, we are the ones who put the levels on sin. God hates lying so much it is mentioned twice in Proverbs as 2 of the seven things He hates. Christians, stop being so judgmental. God loves Ray just as He loves you. Get a grip and pray for the guy, that is truly what he needs.

Makes me very sad . The same sadness when felt when I heard that Amy Grant divorced her husband and other christian artist mess up in public. I understand exactly what he has gone through, his story resembles mine, as a believer I will not give though to this sin but I will fight it until the end (When HE COMES BACK) b/c I know you are not born this way nor are you to give into it but fight it with the FIGHT that you have IN CHRIST! Who really gives a flip what his sexuality is? I may not be a Christian, but the man can sing and I am sure he has, and still does reach many people. It is YOUR God that made him who he is so just get over it and let the man live his life! You have a choice whether to listen to him or not. No-one is forcing you. How the mighty has fallen. God has used Him in a powerful way to touch many lives it is sad that he is now being used to promote this gay lifestyle. Jesus loves him and any of you other homosexuals and there is victory in Jesus. I have had a sexual addiction in the past I still could give in to these desires but i do battle with them and surrender them to jesus daily, God can give victory but we need to seek it with all our hearts, better to go into heaven without a hand than to have our whole body and soul cast into hell. The principal here it is better to enter heaven whatever the sacrifice than to be cast into hell. surrender these gay desires to jesus offer them up as a sacrifice to Him look at what he gave up and suffered for us. Remember God made Adam and Eve not adam and ’steve’. Gods plan is man and woman. He knows what will make us truely happy he doesnt want to spoil our fun. if you struggle with this issue guard your eyes ears hands thoughts whatsoever is lovely pure etc think on these things get rid of those magazines, dont go to those sites avoid those people focus on scripture if any man is in christ he is a new creature old things are passed away all things are become new and all things are of god.
