Singer Sarah McLachlan and husband Ashwin Sood, are splitting after 11 years of marriage.

Sarah McLachlan, 40, and drummer husband, Ashwin Sood, are splitting after 11 years of marriage.
McLachlan actually spoke out about her split from her husband to Billboard when promoting her greatest hits.
“I’m separating from my husband, so these are the songs about that,” McLachlan told the trade, getting in a plug for the two new tunes gracing the compilation, “U Want Me 2″ and “Don’t Give Up on Us.”
McLachlan’s “Closer: The Best of Sarah McLachlan” comes out October 7th, with Arista records.
Sarah McLachlan and Ashwin Sood were married in 1997.
McLachlan and Sood lived in Vancouver, Canada and have two children named India Ann Sushil, 6, and Taja Summer, 14-months old.
Sarah admitted the pair’s marital troubles were “pretty gross,” the singer-songwriter offered no explanation for the breakup.
“I wasn’t planning on saying anything,” McLachlan added, “but it’s gonna come out at some point. I haven’t said anything about it because I’ve been terrified to, but I figure…there’s no good time to say it, so I just said it.”
As for the new tracks, she likened “U Want Me 2″ to the confusion and hesitation couples feel when “there’s no communication or closure, everything’s still up in the air and there’s a lot of anger and sadness.”
“It’s sort of that working through ‘How do we move forward…with some dignity and grace,’ ” she said.
“Don’t Give Up” is McLachlan’s plea for reconciliation.
Always sad to hear about a marriage breaking up after so many years, but things happen!

She is human and it is hard to deal with a split.. celebrity or not!
The media plays a key role in what is broadcasted. Don’t blame it on the star. You did take the time to comment on the write up which means you took the time to read it.

I have been a huge fan of Sarah Mc since her beginning. I am very sadden to hear about Sarah and her husband divorcing, but I guess one doesn’t know what kind of curb ball life is going to throw at you sometimes. I wish her the best of luck, and hope she will continue to give her fans great music. Sarah, you’re the best.

How could you not love such a beautiful woman as Sarah. She has so much going for her and if there was a break-up, then it was for a good reason. She will get by and do well. She is in our hearts and we cannot get enough of her. I wish her well and a happy life. I hope to meet her one day. God bless..
