MTV VMA’s 2008 (Pictures & Performance Videos)

The 25th Anniversary of the MTV Video Music Awards kicked off with Britney Spears doing a bit with Jonah Hill. The VMA host this year is Russell Brand. Britney Spears takes home three Video Music Awards for her song “Piece of Me”! Find out who else took home a “moonman” and see MTV Video Music Award performances videos of Kanye, Christina Aguilera, Paramore, and even Pink’s wardrobe malfunction video!

The first award of the evening was for Best Female Video with the nominees being Rihanna, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Mariah Carey. We were all rooting for her and she did it! Best Female Video award goes to Britney Spears for “Piece of Me”! Yay!

Best Male Video nominees are Chris Brown, Flo Rida, T.I., Usher, Lil Wayne. The winner for Best Male Video award went to Chris Brown for “With You”.

The Jonas Brother performed outdoors and got all the teenage girls going crazy with their “Lovebug” song.

Russell Brand, VMA host, had a great time talking about The Jonas Brothers and their purity rings. He thought maybe it would mean more if they wore their rings in another place (suggesting their genitals). Brand also ripped on Sarah Palin and George Bush. Russell Brand, although from Britain, obviously wants Obama for President.

The awesome Travis Barker played drums while the gorgeous Katy Perry performed her “I Kissed A Girl” song.

Michael Phelps, world-record breaker in swimming, introduced Lil Wayne and T-Pain with Leona Lewis.

The VMA dance battle winner was Fanny Pack. And Best Dancing in a Video nominees are Ne-Yo, Madonna, Chris Brown, Danity Kane, and Pussycat Dolls. The Best Dancing awards went to the Pussycat Dolls for “When I Grow Up”.

Paramore performed their song “Misery Business”, and sounded great live.

Slash and Shia LaBeouf announce nominees for Best Rock Video. Nominees are Paramore, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, and Fall Out Boy. The winner for Best Rock Video is Linkin Park for “Shadow of the Day”.

Miley Cyrus was busy playing “Rock Band”, and was called away to introduce Pink who performs her new single for “So What”. Pink was wearing an electric blue trench-coat style dress and stripped down to a sexy button down outfit with fishnet stockings and knee high boots. It looked as if she almost had her “boobies” slip out from her low cut outfit.

Pete Wentz and his very pregnant wife, Ashlee Simpson, joined each other onstage to get people to vote for Viewer’s choice award.

Presenters for Best Hip-Hop Video are Slipknot. Four dudes go up on stage in masks, and they unmask the fourth guy to see it’s Chris aka McLovin. Nominees for Best Hip Hop award are Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Flo Rida ft T-Pain, Mary J. Blige, and Kanye West ft Chris Martin. The winner is Lil Wayne for “Lollipop”.

Jordin Sparks announced a performance by T.I. on the back lot. T.I. then comes to the main stage to perform with Rihanna.

The always sexy Christina Aguilera performed in all black complete with a filmy cape to her song “Keeps Getting Better”.

Lauren Conrad and Chase Crawford announce the nominees for Best New Artist. The Best New Artist is Tokio Hotel from Germany.

LL Cool J performed “Going Back to Cali” backed up by the awesome Travis Barker and DJ AM.

Paris Hilton joins Russell Brand to announce nominees for Best Pop Video. Nominees are The Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, Tokyo Hotel, Danity Kane, and Panic At the Disco. And the winner for Best Pop Video is Britney Spears for “Piece of Me”. Oh yes, this is Britney’s second Video Music Award of the evening!

Josh Peck and Drake Bell came out to announce Kid Rock, who performed live and was joined onstage by Lil Wayne.

Kobe Bryant announces nominees for Video of The Year. Nominees are Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, Pussycat Dolls, and The Ting Tings. And Video of the Year goes to Britney Spears for “Piece of Me”!! Oh my gosh, this is Britney’s 3rd VMA of the night!

Britney Spears hops on the bank of a golf cart with host Russell Brand as Kanye West performs at the close of the show.

The VMA Post Show included Mr. Perez Hilton who talked about all the diva’s such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Paramore, and how great Britney Spears looked!

Perez Hilton said Russell Brand should not have talked down to the Jonas Brothers about being good boys. Then Perez went on to say that Russell Brand is known as a sexual compulsive person. We’ve all heard what a little slut Russell Brand is!

Congrats to the winners of the 2008 VMA’s, especially to Britney Spears. It’s great to see her making her comeback!
