Skater Van Wastell Dead at 24(Photos)

Pro skateboarder Van Wastell died at the young age of 24. Thus far, there are not any details released about his death, but we will update the post when news arrives. See below for Van Wastell photos after the bump.

Van Wastell skated for Krooked, Vans, Independent, Spitfire and Matix. It is so sad that Van Wastell’s death comes right before he was to be named Krooked Skateboard’s newest pro. See Van Wastell video below.

Thus far we are hearing Van Wastell was on a trip for Vans in Berlin, and they said he fell out of a window. We have no idea if this is accurate but reporting the details that are available.

Matix clothing received a phone call from Theibaud saying:

There are some things in life you can never prepare for. I received a call from DLX’s Jim Thiebaud yesterday, his voice calm but unsteady. What he went on to tell me was seemingly unbelievable. On Friday Sept. 5th,
Van Wastell fell from a Berlin hotelwindow to his death. This is devastating news for all of us here at Matix, as Van was our friend, our team rider and a close homie of mine. I don’t know what else to say other than we will miss the f*** out
Van, he will continue his journey in mind and spirit. Our hearts goes out to the Wastell family during this time of confusion and sadness. WE ALREADY MISS YOU MUCH VAN

On a skateboarding board, a man from Germany said that Van was in Berlin and reportedly asked for painkillers after some bad slams on his hip. Then they said Wastell spent the rest of the day drinking beers, but thinking he should go to the hospital. We will update you as we hear more about the sad passing of Van Wastell.
