Reporter fails in claim over rights to Heath Ledger video.
Posted on September 6, 2008A celebrity reporter filed a law suit to claim rights over a video that supposedly showed Heath Ledger doing drugs. The judge who handled the case said that the lawsuit failed to adequately state the legal claims.
Judge John S. Wiley Jr. dismissed 11 out of 12 allegations filed against a photo agency and two cameramen accused of taping the reporter and Heath Ledger. This taping happened in 2006.
The reporter worked for People magazine. The lawyers for this reporter can amend the lawsuit to try to get some allegations restored. The lawyers can file a trespass claim against the photographers. The reporter had dated one of the cameramen at that time.
The tape that showed Heath Ledger in an alleged drug session was supposed to be shown on “Entertainment Tonight” but the show canned it.
