Warner Brother’s Plans “Darker” Superman Movie

After the Batman Dark Knight success, Warner Brothers now plans to reboot Superman. But do you think fans want to see a “darker” Superman? Most fans like the sweet, awkward, handsome Clark Kent.

The last Superman movie was a huge disappointment, but Warner Brothers plans a new Superman movie, one with a “darker” superman.
The psychologically darker Batman that Christian Bale played in the “Dark Knight”, worked for Batman, but will that same train of thought work for Superman?
Superman, “The Man of Steel” is not really a dark, tormented type of character. But in his mythology, he could be portrayed that way.
Of course Superman did have some emotional and psychological damage. He was an orphan who never knew his biological parents or birthplace. As Clark Kent, he is in love with a woman he can’t really have, Lois Lane. Lois Lane also wants Clark Kent, it’s obvious isn’t it?
Superman’s alter ego, Clark Kent, is a somewhat weak and awkward guy, even a tad clumsy. Of course in my opinion that actually makes him more attractive.
It does seem we tend to like a darker, bleak, superhero these days. Or according to the Box Office sales anyway. But do you actually see Superman that way?
Christopher Reeve was the best Superman, but now that he’s gone, who would be a good choice?

Superman should not be a darker character. That not what he’s know for. I think bringing in a darker villian would be a better idea. Darkseid, Doomsday, or Mongul would be better candidates then Lex Luthor. People are tired of sseing Superman go up against Lex, and it’s about time that we saw Superman go toe to toe with someone that can match his strength. Darkseid is probably the best villian for the movie. He’s powerful, and intelligent.
As for an actor to play the roll, I am not apposed to Brandon Routh, or Tom Welling. Kate Bosworth could be replaced though.
Superman Can’t be a dark character. He’s the light at the end of the tunnel
