Star Wars Wedding? Huge Star Wars fans, Rebecca D’Madeiros and Bill Duda had a “Star Wars” themed wedding in Portland, Oregon recently. May the “force” be with them!

Rebecca D’Madeiros and Bill Duda got married in their home’s backyard in Portland, Oregon. Seems fairly normal, but they had all their guests dress as characters from the Star Wars movies.

The interesting couple, both 36, had nearly a year of planning for their special day!

“Rebecca and I are massive fans of the films and when were were planning the wedding we thought why not Star Wars?”, said Mr Duda, a school teacher. “It was a lot of fun – after all, it’s not everyday you get to be married by Yoda.”

The bride and groom were dressed up as Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar from “Star Wars”, and came out from their home led by stormtroopers.

“The wedding was so informal at the start but obviously when the actual ceremony took place people became at bit more respectful,” says Justin Winokur, 33, who was there to photograph the event.

“The wedding was presided over by Yoda, who had secured his marriage licence off the internet in the weeks beforehand and the ringbearer was none over than Princess Leia, sporting her famous gold bikini.”

Even though it was a rather strange wedding theme, the guests all truly got into character and had a blast.

“You have never seen people more excited to be dressed up in Star Wars gear. Everybody totally got into the swing of things,” said Mr Winokur.

No good versus evil seating charts though, Winokur said, “There was no division of the wedding guests between the Jedi and the Empire but that would have been a pretty neat idea if we could have done that.”

Strange wedding but kinda cool, why the hell not?
