Reginae Carter, the daughter of rapper Lil’ Wayne, was reported to have died in a car accident on Sunday evening. But it was all a cruel rumor. Little Reginae is “alive and well” thank goodness!
Update: Lil Wayne himself addressed the media about reports his daughter was killed in an accident saying:
“Please allow me to dispel any rumours or speculations and report that my daughter is alive, healthy and surrounded by family who care and love her dearly,” the rapper said.
In a statement, Lil Wayne hit out at publications that had carried the story, calling the rumours “completely false and unfounded”.
“Neither Reginae nor any other member of my family has been involved in any car accident.
“My family and I truly appreciate the concern and support shown to us,” he added.
Wow, what a relief, whoever started this cruel rumor about a little girl’s death needs his/her ass kicked!
Sources are reporting that Reginae Carter, the daughter of Lil’ Wayne, whose given name is Dwayne Carter, allegedly died in a traffic accident late Sunday evening.
However, the reports have not been confirmed by the rapper or any of his representatives. At this time, there are tons of comments on Lil’ Wayne’s MySpace page with fans sending condolences, but there is one message that apparently came from Reginae’s aunt that confirms that the report is false.
“I am pleased to inform you that this report is false,” according to a post from a person who claims to be Reginae’s aunt. “It is merely a rumor started by someone who obviously is miserable in their own skin that they would even have the notion to attack a child.”
“Rest assured Reginae is tucked away in her bed at this very moment trying to get past the hurt this ugliness has caused her and our family,” continued the poster.
Little Reginae Carter is the daughter of Lil’ Wayne and his high school girlfriend, Antonia “Toya” Johnson. Johnson, who was briefly married to rapper Lil’ Wayne, gave birth to Carter when she was only 14 years old. The couple married on Valentine’s Day of 2004, but they divorced in 2006.
Hopefully the reports are false, but it would be a very cruel rumor to start! If Lil Wayne’s daughter, Reginae did pass away, we send our condolences to their family!
