Paul McCartney wrote “My Soul” for Heather Mills.

Paul McCartney had a long and bitter divorce from his ex wife, Heather Mills. He wrote and recorded a ballad, My Soul, together with Nitin Sawhney. My Soul is a love song that is inspired by Heather Mills.

My Soul will be released in Nitin Sawhney’s new album, London Undersound, in October 2008. Sawhney said that My Soul tells the story of Paul McCartney’s divorce from his point of view. It is supposed to be a powerful and emotional song about a difficult period in his life.

The lyrics spoke of the shattered dreams, the regrets, the sorrows and the lack of privacy. Paul McCartney relayed the message that he felt sorry for his ex wife.

   This song is not about Heather. It is about a woman he encountered on previous tours, before the divorce. And it wasn’t current girlfriend Nancy, either.
