Kerry Katona, the ex Atomic Kitten singer, has another embarrassment to think about. Her mother, Sue Katona, had admitted in court that she falsely claimed many thousands in benefits.

Sue Katona, 48, claimed income support and UK council tax rebates. Kerry had given her around $92,000 and she had the money in her bank account. Yet, Sue Katona received benefits from her state. Sue had missed several court appearances because she said she had agoraphobia and was afraid to leave her house.

After getting a tough warning about a possible arrest for missing her court dates, Sue Katona finally turned up. She was not prosecuted and was released with a conditional discharge.
