Amy Winehouse’s parents, Mitch Winehouse and Janis Winehouse, have unveiled the official wax figure of their daughter at Madame Tussauds museum in London, on Wednesday, July 23.
Mitch Winehouse cracked a joke with GMTV and said that he would like to take home the wax figure and send the other Amy back to the museum.
Tussauds’ spokesman, Ben Lovett, said that the museum had received thousands of requests to make and display Amy Winehouse’s wax figure. The statue was made using 20 sculptors and it took 4 and a half months to make. Amy did not pose for the statue. The craftsmen used photos and DVDs instead of a live model.
