Barenaked Ladies lead singer, Steven Page, arrested for cocaine possession in New York.
Barenaked Ladies, Canadian alternative rock band’s lead singer Steven Page has been busted on drug charges in New York.
The police in Syracuse, New York state that Steven Page has been arrested on Friday, along with two American women, after police noticed something suspicious in an apartment in the village of Fayette.
“As [the officers] approached the apartment they saw people in the window sitting at a table and it looked like they were engaged in something. There was a white capsule and a white powdery substance that later tested positive for cocaine.” said Capt. Bill Bleyle with the Manlius Police Department in New York State.
Steven Page, 38, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Steven Page was released on $10,000 bail.
A further search of the apartment turned up more cocaine and marijuana. The charges against Page are for the cocaine.
Page is scheduled to appear in court July 17.
Ironically, the cocaine possession charges come at a really bad time. Steven Page recently released a children’s music cd with the Barenaked Ladies band called “Snack Time”, and is scheduled to perform at a children’s-themed event in Long Island, N.Y., next month.
Guess we know what “snack time” is for Steven Page… a little blow!
