Nick Hogan could not stop release of prison tapes.
Posted on July 15, 2008Nick Hogan and the rest of the Hogan family wished that the prison audio tapes could be kept private and confidential. The Pinellas County Sheriff has denied their requests.
The Sheriff said that telephone calls made during the visitations were public records. Nick Hogan, aka Nick Bollea, could not expect privacy within the premises of the jail. The Sheriff’s department stressed that telephone records were not confidential and there would be no preferential treatment for anybody.
The media had obtained 26 hours of taped conversations between Nick and various members of his family. The Hogans had sued the authorities in June to halt the release of the audio tapes.
