Salman Rushdie, 61, was rumored to be courting Riya Sen, 27, a model. Sir Salman’s marriage to Padma Lakshmi, a model, had broken up in 2007. He has made friends with Riya Sen, a model who is based in India.

Rusdie and Sen had often exchanged emails and he had invited her to make a trip to New York. Riya Sen has denied that there was anything more than a simple friendship between them. She said that a family friend had introduced them.

Riya Sen has been nicknamed as the “Jordan of Bollywood” by some movie critics. They had compared her to UK’s Jordan, aka Katie Price. Sen had appeared in music videos in her preparation to make a crossover to movies.

Rushdie’s spokeswoman has declined to comment on this matter.
